...Their quality, at least.

The new CBFD is a remake of the original. Not like Resident Evil on GC remake, but more like the Zelda Bonus disc's graphics and a couple of bonus levels.

I pity anyone who pays full price for this game again.

By the way, on the Resident Evil GCN remake, did they fix the controls?

I never played the original PS1 RE so I can't compare the two. But I hated the GCN version's controls.

As for Rare... they sure have spent a ridiculously long time working on the Conker remake. I think they were trying to get multiplayer perfected or something.

I haven't liked them for a while...DK64 and Star Fox Adventures were not so good.

Did it use a control scheme where pressing up would make your character walk forward no matter what direction they were actually facing, down made them walk backwards, and left and right would make them turn? And there was no way to actually aim your gun at stuff? Because that's what the PSX version used.

As I said in that Eternal Darkness topic and Nintendo Main. If the Sweet Home cast was real, from Kazuo to Mamiya, I'm sure each one of them would agree with me that Chris Redfield is an idiot.

Back on Rare, they are making that Kameo game which is supposed to be fairly fresh, but they keep delaying it. If it's to channel time/funds to Conker, that's sad.

Oh yeah, that sounds like it. Awful stuff.

I don't really understand what the point of that even was.

Maybe they were trying to make the game more scary by making it near impossible to move your character around when in a dangerous situation.

And then there's the whole issue of not being able to save when you want to. I hate being forced to play longer than I want to.

But I don't think I would've enjoyed the game if it had great controls and a save anywhere feature, anyway. Not after playing Eternal Darkness.

When Crawl was playing Eternal Darkness, he actually said something like that. He also commented on how the game was pretty much impossible without a gun. I don't know. It'd surely be easier if you could actually point it at what you wanted to die. After I got Jill's gun, I opened fire on a zombie. First shot hit. The next nine proceeded to miss.

What strikes me as odd is that interviews from various ResEvil staffers confirm that there are elements of Sweet Home that were intentionally incorporated into ResEvil. Why wasn't being able to save wherever you please one of them?

This got off topic fast.

This topic name is misleading. I almost wasted precious plutonium going back in time to give Rareware a letter telling it to wear a bulletproof vest.

And the stupid title made me wander into the X-Box forum. I don't have an X-box. I don't plan to get an X-box. I have nothing relevant to say here. Nice job, jerk. You made me spam.

I don't think it's so much Rare is slowly dying, but everything videogame related is. It's like Final Fantasy, 'cept we can't just put the crystals/orbs back and fix everything. I can only vouch for the Nintendo side of things, but things are falling apart where I'm standing. I haven't truly enjoyed a new game that wasn't a remake since Super Mario 64...

So if there's a lesson here, it's that if you type a lot of spam in one post it looks like you probably had some relevant information in there somewhere, even if you didn't.

The CBFD remake is supposedly a superb multiplayer game with the director's cut thrown in as an excuse to get people to throw down money. I wasn't a fan of CBFD to begin with, but I'll rent this to see if the multiplayer mode is as good as the hype.

I'm not making a decision on Rare until they get Perfect Dark 0 out the door (rumored Xbox 2 launch title).
