A Link to the Past was #3 and Wind Waker was #4. The Legend of Zelda (NES original) was #7 and Link was rated as the #1 character. As much as I like Zelda, I don't think Wind Waker and a Link to the Past should have been so high up. Wind Waker didn't exactly break new ground, it just used cel-shading. I loved LttP, but it doesn't seem like a #3-material game, especially considering all of the other great games out there. But Ocarina of Time deserved the #1 spot. That game was revolutionary. |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | I thought Link to the Past was an awesome game, and I'm not surprised that Nintendo would rate it #3. Especially given that the game was released thirteen/fourteen years ago, it was a remarkably deep game. |

| Awesome!!! OoT is still the best LoZ game, in my opinion. I have such fond memories of that game and achieving 100% on it. ![]() | |

That, and SMB3 are the games I can play over and over and over and over (without recharing my baterry!) without getting bored. |

Some of their rankings may be a bit in-the-moment. For example, Resident Evil 4 at #2. Obviously, that game is awesome and groundbreaking, but for it to be at #2 amongst Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Bros., or the Legend of Zelda (the real revolutionary games that shaped video gaming as we know it) seems rather biased to me. |

Don't remember many details but I at least coulda sworn they wrote all of the reader-input letters themselves. |

A more believable source may have been from something like All Game Guide or Gamespot. Nonetheless, a #1 position is saying something. Majora's Mask wasn't quite as good as Ocarina of Time, but I still thought that it put up a good fight. A worthy sequel, nevertheless. |

Still, I must say that both Super Mario Brothers and Zelda: Ocarina marked history in game hisory. Go Mario! Go Linky! Go Mario! Go Mario! Did I say Linky? Go Mario! |

On a side note, I'll admit Majora's Mask was one of the stranger incarnations of the series, but not a bad game in the least. The fact that it felt so bizarre was intentional - you were supposed to be in a bizarre world. Almost like a dream state, which is the impression I got while playing. |

On paper, it's a better game than OoT. The only problem is, as deep as the game is, it's essentially a huge sidequest with a side of several smaller sidequests. Doesn't have the same epic feel to it as OoT, and it had the disadvantage of being the second game released of the two. I wouldn't put Wind Waker in the top 10. Ok, so the ending was badass, the animation really grows on you, and the combat was fun, albeit nothing new. But the sailing, fishing for treasure and triforce peices, and serious dungeon deficit are more than enough to keep it from being one of the best games Nintendo has published. |
