I'll do my best to tell you a little bit about it. Minor spoilers ahead, but I'll try to hit all of the main points that make the game unique without giving too much away. First off, the game focuses around the three day system, as you probably already know. You have three game days to do what you need to get done, after which, you have to play the song of time to reset it back to day one before the moon crashes to the ground and kills everyone. You only get to keep your items when time resets and everything else goes back to the way it was. By using the new items that you've earn to get into new areas, little by little you work torwards stoping the disaster. While it's true that what you've done resets, you're almost never required to redo it, and if you are, then you'll often discover short-cuts that you couldn't use before to make it much faster and easier to repeat. The second thing the game really focuses on are the NPCs. In this game, the towns people actually have their own lives and problems. They don't hold still like other games. Instead, they're in different places, at different times, doing different things. Depending on your own actions, what they do can change. You really get to know some of the characters in this game better than any other. This game has a ton of little side quests and every one of them wins you some sort of prize. There's actually a lot more to do than in OoT. Another big thing that must be mentioned are the transformation masks. They let Link change into different forms. Ever want to smash an enemy with a powerful Goron punch or roll around in a ball like they do? Well now you can! There are several transformation masks, but I won't spoil them. Sadly, the game is on the short side. It only has 4 real dungeons. Don't get me wrong, because the game is still longer than it sounds. As mentioned before, there are a ton of side quests and on top of that you'll go on a numder of adventures just to get in to those dungeons. The dungeons it does have are easily some of the best, most creative dungeons out of any Zelda game. Anyone that says otherwise is a filthy liar. ![]() Finally, there are two main complaints that I've heard people have. The first is that the time limit makes them feel rushed, and they say they can't just relax and explore like they could in OoT. I've personally never understood this, because each game hour is a real life minute long. This means that you have over an hour to play before having to turn back time. Further more, once you learn to slow down time you have twice as long. Over 2 and a half real life hours! Kinda seems likes it's all in their heads to me. The second is more real, but I still don't think it's as bad as some people make it out to be. You can only save when you travel back in time, or at special temporary save points. Not really a big deal, since you can reset time whenever you want, but I guess it could be a pain if you were playing and you suddenly needed to quit. Majora's mask is a different sort of game, but it's still very much a zelda game and IMO, it's still a lot of fun. (Just to warn you, the Gamecube version was pretty buggy for some reason. I'd go with the N64 version) ![]() Last edited by Cravdraa; 07-05-2006 at 06:14 PM. |

I have no idea why. The worst, by far, is the west side of town. The music skips and crackles sometimes when you enter a new area, as the GC has trouble loading it fast enough. Neither of those things should ruin the game though. The biggest thing I've heard is that the game can freeze up, which really sucks because of how the save system works. It seems like it depends on your GC, because for some people it's a real problem, but for others it never happens even once. Hopefully you'd be lucky. On the plus side, when it doesn't have slow down, the frame rate is much higher and the game looks better than the N64. ![]() |

But the reason the GC has trouble with MM is because it doesn't have the RAM expantion pak that the N64 does. The same disk that has MM on it also comes with another version of OoT, LoZ, and AoL, plus a WW demo, a preview video of WW, and a short retrospective video that shows short clips of every LoZ game that was made up until that point. All of it runs perfectly except for MM, which has the problems mentioned. Even if you do have some trouble with MM (and I hope you don't, because it's a great game) it's still a good disk to own for any Zelda fan, so I'd say it's a good buy. I got mine for free by registering my other games, way back when it came out. ![]() |

I do not really care for the wind waker demo except the fact to see what is diffrent from the real game. Majoras Mask sounds cool because there are less deungons and more travelling. I think to play to original zeldas would be cool too. |

I cannot pinpoint why I don't like it, but I know it's the only Zelda game I only played through once. I've played through AoL twice and the others at least 3 times. I think I've played through OoT over a dozen times. |
