I think Kokiri are immortal as long as they stay in the forest, but will die if they leave. Of course, during the credits there are Kokiri at Lon Lon Ranch, so this may not be true.

It might be that they just age if they leave.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

On the other hand, aren't outsiders supposed to be "poisoned" if they enter the forest? Like that kid who owned the blue cucco?

Arrow "Everybody will become a Stalfos. Everybody, Stalfos."

Well, the Lost Woods, at least.

I have played a MILLION video games. Usually there is an item that keeps them immortal and if it destroyed they are mortal.

The fact you have to say "I've played a MILLION video games" supports Marilink's theory that you've only played five games.

In many cases a character is immortal but can be temporarily beaten, like Dracula in Castlevania who gets the pulp beaten out of him, but is revived every hundred years, or even Dark Force in Phantasy Star. The Soul Reaver manual says something like "Because you are a vampire, you are immortal. You cannot die." (Soul Reaver has a kind of dying in which you get sent back somewhere in the game, or else that'd be a pretty boring game). And in ActRaiser, you're basically playing as God.
