Twilight Princess release date. Good news and bad news.

It's been anounced that the Wii, along with the Wii version of Twilight Princess will be released Nov 19th. Yay! The bad news is that the GCN version is being pushed back until December 11th so as not to hurt the sales of the Wii.
Excuse me while I just say.

Looks like the GCN owners get shafted so nintendo can try and make an extra buck. Again. I'm pissed. I'm sad. That's about all I can think of to say on the subject.

That's pretty annoying, but I can wait another month. Good thing is that now that I'm a student teacher I will have two weeks off for Christmas where I don't have anything to do (I used to have college activities and a side job), so I can imagine what I'll be doing then

Ah, great. I wanted the GCN version more then the Wii version. Isn't the GCN version harder or something?

And they delayed MP3...the number one game I was looking forward to. Good thing I only have to wait until Jan.

The two versions are supposed to be almost exactly alike except for the controls. Interestingly, in all of the new screenshots released, Link is now right handed. It was a change made to make using the wiimote feel more natural since having a left handed Link mirror sword moves you perform with your right hand would have been... weird. There's some speculation that the player may be able to choose the dominate hand. No word on if this change is in the GCN version too.

Sorry Koga, more bad news for you. It sounds like the Wii and Twilight Princess won't be hitting europe until after christmas. The good news is that if you're interested in the Wii (and I know you're not) Nintendo has also announced that the Wii will be region free, so importing is an option.

Hey, great. This should shut up those idiots who think Nintendo 'cares more about its fans than about making money'. Anything that disillusions a fanboy is fine by me.

Hmm, I just read an announcement that Wii will launch on December 8th in Europe. Of course if they delay the GCN version of TP as well, it probaly won't be out after Christmas, but by the looks of it, the Wii will.

Well that would be good. I hope you're right. The various sources conflict a bit, but I heard that the delay on the GCN version might only be a NA thing. If that's the case then Europe would actually get it two days earlier by your date. Wouldn't that be interesting...

Man you people need to stop bitching. Christ. You're getting it before Christmas if you're so stuck on getting the GCN version, though I don't know why you necessarily would be.

When you get down to the wire, it's simply a very good marketing move by Nintendo. All the super-ultra-diehard-gotta-have-it-on-day-one Zelda fanatics now face a choice between getting a Wii or waiting three weeks while hundreds of thousands of people play and beat Twilight Princess in the interim. Much as you might not like it, the move is nothing short of genius.

I don't care. I'm not waiting for its release, I'm waiting for it to make Player's Choice and get it for $20.

Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there!

It really doesn't matter, since I have no money to purchase a Wii or Twilight Princess with until next summer, anyways.

Nintendo doesn't owe you this game. It's all on their behalf.

I'm not sure I'd characterise a plan that's bound to alienate a portion of Nintendo's ever-dwindling fanbase as a 'good marketing move'.

...then again, they've stuck by Nintendo this long; those poor chumps would probably put up with just about anything.

Nintendo of Europe's site still has Q4 2006 as launch date for the GCN version of TP, but the shop where I usually buy my games has December 19th, which is probably unofficial, but that would be perfect for me.

It's still better than when Capcom delayed the Mega Man X collection so that they could REMOVE all the extras they promised. Ever since that little stunt I only buy Capcom games used.

I don't really care. I'm preordering the Wii and I was going to purchase it on that console anyway so no change for me.
