It's because, like me, they don't care a damn what the reviewers say. The difference is, whereas I ignore reviewers because I think most of them are idiots who wouldn't know a good game if it stabbed them in the throat with a shrimp fork, your average Nintendo fanboy ignores reviewers because the fanboy believes that anybody who criticises a Nintendo product does so because of some twisted anti-Nintendo bias, and not because the product actually has some flaws. __________________ Boo--beware, he lives |

Considering it's a port of the Gamecube version that's really not all that surprising. As has already been said though I don't take much stock in what critics (movie and videogames) say. I hardly ever agree with them anyways. I'm a Nintendo fan, yes. However I expected the switch to Wii controls to be a bit clumsy. It was a very smart marketing move by Nintendo though which is the reason it was done. __________________ I am terror, I am Daos. |

I can state with absolute truth that I have been WRONG about every Zelda game I've ever developed an opinion about before it's release, dating all the way back to Link's Awakening. Without fail. From what I've seen so far. I'm convinced that Twilight Princess is going to be awesome. Possibly one of the best games ever made. Now stop and think about that for a moment. ![]() ![]() |

Go here and get a more complete picture, if you would. Right now it's the second-highest rated game of all time. Not that I particularly care about what reviewers say, but try to look at the entire thing instead of one review. |

My personal experience with it so far is about a 9.5 or so. The controller takes a little getting used to, but it's getting very natural as I go through. My only real gripe is that the controller has a difficult time (or at least I have a difficult time of) differentiating between: (1) Throw the object I'm holding. That is hold the controller vertically and fling forward, and (2) Draw my sword (and consequentially) drop the thing I'm holding. That's a horizontal flick. (This is rather inconvenient when wielding explosive thingies.) There are a few antialiasing issues where vertical lines tend to get a little pixelated when you (i.e., the camera) is moving towards them or away from them, and I'm annoyed that Epona can't walk backwards (you have to rear her up and then she'll turn in place). Bust most of these are small things that a fanboy isn't primarily concerned about. Granted, being so very little into the game (who'd have thought 7½ hours would be so little, but it's anywhere between 10-15%), I cannot fully give the game a score. But I do believe that the 8.8 is an outlier from someone who just didn't get it. That stuff happens. |

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

| Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2001 Gender: Posts: 286 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | The game is great; I'm at the castle right now and going around getting everything so the game doesn't end (I played about 45 hours last week and haven't had a chance this week). So far, my only complaint is the music - very repetitive and the tracks aren't very long before they begin to loop. Unlike other Zelda games, there have been no tracks in this game that really stand out for me, except for the cowboy western theme when you have to talk to several cats in a town. |
