No, but it does mean that you should've stopped wasting your breath the moment you admitted that you agreed with my initial statement.

By the time I had agreed with your initial statement we were debating something else... but whatever. I concede.

Forgotten. It was the product of gossip and overprotection.

He's usually a lot worse, Calypso. TML is actually one of those giant worms from 'Tremors', suddenly surfacing and devouring whole boards' worth of members with little warning and no provocation. We can count ourselves lucky that he's contented himself, for the time being, with gnawing on Bomby, but the question remains--who will be the next? (Oh, and before you try it on, TML, just know this--I might go down, but I won't go down easy. You see, I've got THE TOUCH--I've got THE POWWEEEERRRRRRRR. And even if you manage to evade my Eagle Claw kung fu and swallow me, I'll get out my trusty BSA pocket-knife and cut your gizzard into a Slinky on the way down. Good luck eating anything with a spring, a spring, a marvelous thing where your chewing organ used to be. It won't be fun for a girl and a boy, I'll tell you that for free.)

Whatever happens in that movie, it has GOT to have a fat african american lady jumping in at a random time saying, "Yall want some pancakes?"

Link should not talk, it adds mystery(... you know what I mean) to his character.

It would have to have the Forest Temple, Shadow Temple, and the Water Temple. Good luck designing that hell hole.

I'm glad to hear that. I may not post much, but I'm interested to see what else you'll be posting around here. Bit of a ghost you see.

On another note, one based on this topic (I know - shock, horror), I wonder when/if Nintendo will impliment voice acting in Zelda. They did it in Mario back with Mario Sunshine after all. If they do it right, I think it'd be a fantastic addition to the series.

I think that could only work on two conditions.
1. Link doesn't speak (Mario never speaks either).
2. All conversations can be immediately skipped. Remember how annoying it can be that some conversations in Zelda games can't be completely skipped to the end? Now imagine that they are spoken, which is at a much slower pace than you read.

Well, all dialogue, whether it's accompanied by voice acting or not should be skippable - certainly so.

Though I don't know about keeping Link silent forever, I'm curious about a more "active" role for him, so to speak. Don't get me wrong, I like him as he's always been - I'm just curious.

And as for Mario - the only way he should start to have major bits of spoken dialogue would require a new voice for him. The one he's been sporting, thanks to Charles Martinet, since Super Mario 64 I just can't see being sustained beyond the "Whoo-hoos" and other one-liner bits we've all already heard. Doubt it'd change because it's become quite established with him. Link on the other hand could. The more the I think about it though, the more unsure. Really they'd just have to do an insanely good job with him should Link find a voice. Wonder if that'd be even possible.

I once saw an interview with 'Mario' voiced by Charles Martinet, and as you said it really didn't work. It reminded me a bit of Jar-Jar Binks.

The way I figure, Tales of Symphonia had it write. VA for all the major scenes, every line able to be skipped or cut short if needed.

Really, the only times VA becomes a necessity are when you start adding so much gibberish VA (as in the case of TP's Midna) or you have quantities of dialogue that compete with Final Fantasy. I have no problem with Mario being the way it is.
