Oh really? And what if wanted TP now? And exactly what is the main problem keeping people from getting Wiis? SHORTAGES!

If you wanted Zelda soon as possible, you'd buy a Wii.

The shortages are not related to Zelda on Gamecube in any way.

Are you so impatient that you'd play a crappier version of a game on the GCN that's one of two things worth a crap on the Wii because you have to play it now?

Seriously enough, I will leave it up to my own judgement if the Wii version is better, but now I might not be able to ever make that judgement.

They lie, they push used games at exorbitant marked up prices, and they tell you things like "Oh yeah, we might have an extra copy of Gears of War if you put a deposit on a PS3/Wii and buy the strategy guide." I normally avoid places like Best Buy out of principle, but there's something to be said about going there the day of a release and having mountains of a game whereas the crap specialty stores have 15 copies for the idiots they conned into preordering.
I think you missed the part where I said this "EB worker" is my friend, and has been since long before he ever worked at EB. So yes I find his statement credible. And to be honest, I really don't care about Nintendo's or EB's business ethics, or lack thereof; I have more important things to worry about than whether or not some rumor is true or false.

Besides, I already have my GameCube copy of Zelda and finished it yesterday. It doesn't matter to me what Nintendo does.

I would've probably got a Wii if TP weren't released for the GameCube. I might still get one if there's a game I absolutely want to play (Smash Bros and Metroid Prime spring to mind), but at the moment TP is the only one.

I asked my friend who works at NoA regarding this, and she hasn't heard a word about it. Granted, she's not exactly anywhere close to Reggie's level, but you'd have thought we'd have heard a peep out of SOME gaming news group about this were it true. :P

Or Someone who didn't want to pay $300.00 USD so they could play one game.

Or someone that mods a Zelda forum and didn't want to wait two more months until they could play the game and actually get in on the discussions going on right in front of them.

I think you missed the point. EB workers (friends or not) talk out of their ass.

You're going to buy a Wii anyway (except Boo). Whining because you don't get an inferior version of the game is stupid.

Anyone who bought a GCN has absolutely no right to complain about spending $300 for one game.

It is plausible that they'd make up a story to move product. Lots of game store employees are unethical--especially if they sense you aren't in the know. Back in 2000, my ma (a non-gamer) got me that 'Scooby-Doo' N64 game for Christmas because some jerk at the local Babbage's assured her it was just like 'Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver'.

So, this sucks for people like me, who cannot afford a Wii. And my parents refuse to buy the family one. So, I guess this means no Zelda for a long, long time.

Ominous... Nintendo has removed the GCN section of their Twilight Princess site. Oddly, the main GCN section at nintendo.com still tells you to go there, but there's no longer any info about the GCN version there.

There's only about three differences between the GCN and Wii versions anyway.

Maybe if you knew the guy I'd take your comment seriously, however, you don't and I really don't care what you think. Besides that, you're generalizing, which is something a good debater doesn't do.

Funny how I own sixteen GameCube games, all of which I enjoyed. What has me interested in the Wii? Smash Bros. Brawl and nothing else now that I own Zelda for GC. I'm not going to invest time or money into a system that I really won't use.

I hope you all realize that a Wii-exclusive Zelda is coming down the pipe and it's been in development for a year.

And please name your sixteen games - out of curiosity, and so I can prove a point.

Get someone that likes you to visit an out-of-the-way store for you, preferably one in a rich neighbourhood (children of wealth are less likely to have to settle for the GCN version). My pal and I hit a Gamestop at a strip-mall in Brookfield (an affluent suburb of Milwaukee) the other day--they had GCN Zelda up the wazoo. A dozen-odd copies in the drawer, a few in the glass case behind the counter, and the clerk said there were forty more in the back.
