Same with when you knock off the outer layer of their armor - including, I believe, the outer part of the helmet. It's an Iron Knuckle. |

Don't try the Wikipedia isn't always right sht, because this is correct. Edit: A key difference between the two enemies (in later Zelda titles) is that Iron Knuckles are often referred to as animated suits of armor, whereas Darknuts, under their armor, are humanoid dogs which resemble the Dobermann Pinscher. Do you have a picture of what it looks like under the armor? No. The helmets in WW were regular type helmets, and they were dog-things there. |

Wikipedia says that because the guide says that - it's not canon enough to disprove the fat that they're empty suits of armor, with nothing alive inside of them. They're human-shaped. Not jackals. They're Iron Knuckles. Now, you can either try to dispute that for real, or you can walk off. |

See above concerning Wikipedia. Nice, you have reasoning that doesn't prove anything. Key difference here is that we can knock the outer helmet off of the Iron Knuckles here and they are wearing facemasks and chain-mail beneath it. The mask is even more human-shaped and rounded. A doberman's face sticks out too much for this to be possible, especially with how huge the iron Knuckles are in this game, and they are huge. And of course we don't have pictures of what they're like under the armor. If we did, they would not be iron Knuckles. Thanks for the reasoning without a point, now try again. | |

Take Wizzrobes for example. In WW they're clearly some sort of bird-like creature. In other games this just doesn't seem to be the case. Likewise, Moblins look almost entirely different each game. Peahats too. Every reoccuring enemy seems to get a complete makeover to suit each new game's style. The "iron knuckles" in TP don't seem to have anything inside them. As Wyborn and I have both stated, they seem to be nothing but living armor. ![]() |

IT MAKES ME WANNA CALL THEM DARK IRON KNUCKLES, OR IRON DARKNUTS!!!! Enemy: Dinolfos, they made a return from OoT. The Lizalfos have no armor and can be finished, while Dinolfos have tons of Armor and get up too fast to be finished. That's how you tell. Those with masks are wannabees. |

Of course, this IS Nintendo Power, so what do they know? >_> I still say they're Iron Knuckles. For the record, fighting them in the Cave of Ordeals is the win. __________________ Can I has signature? |

I'd rather go with calling the regular ones Darknuts after the first LoZ game (which I just played through again). Fighting them is remarkably similar to the originals Meanwhile, the guide refers to the green orc-like guys as "Bulblins". Makes more sense than calling them Moblins. Plus, Link never had the chance to actually get behind an Iron Knuckle in Ocarina of Time, seeing as he had no skills compared to Twilight Princess/Wind Waker Link, so Iron Knuckles may have a weakness in back. Of course, the only sure-fire way to tell if it's an Iron Knuckle or Dark Nut... SHANG! SHANG! __________________ Can I has signature? |
