So, I order the GCN version of TP because I can't get a Wii, and...

I pay for next day shipping and they say I can't get it until Monday! What? No mail on Saturdays anymore? -CSM

Next day shipping means they send it the next day, not that you get it the next day.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

EBGames has nothing.

Also, are there any differences between GCN and Wii versions? Because I was a stupid and bought the strategy guide, and they seem a lot different. -CSM

From what I've heard, the Wii version is flipped along the Y-axis; you have to zig where you'd normally zag, and zag where, in the original, you'd MOVE ZIG!!! For great justice. You know what you doing. (And so on.)

The Wii version can also display at 480p instead of just 480i and in wide screen. There are a few very minor bug fixes in the GCN version that you probably won't run into... and otherwise not a great deal.

The glitch that disallows you to continue if you save and quit in the room used to get to City of the Sky was removed.

Also, the differences are:

1. Controls (dur)
2. Wii is mirrored version of GCN
3. Slightly better framerate in spots
4. And the glitch fixes.

Why did they even have to use different maps? So you'll buy both versions? Also, from what I've heard, the Wii Link is a righty, which is of course a sin in the world of Linkage. -CSM

Well, given that 90% of the population is right-handed, it stands to reason that 90% of the people playing the game will hold the Revmote in their right hand, so right-handed Link prevents disorientation during sword-fighting.

The map isn't different; it's just flipped, mirrored, reversed. That's how they got the sword in Link's right hand; it was easier than actually redoing the character model.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Yes, to beat a dead horse further, the engines of the two games believe they're playing on the very same map; someone just slapped a -1 in the graphics matrix to flip it for the reasons the Captain said above.

Ick. But Link's a Lefty!

I finally got the GCN version, and I must say it kicks ass. Although I find the random wolf transformations annoying. -CSM

Random how? When you enter the Twilight, you turn into a wolf, I wouldn't call that very random.

Was the graphics matrix at least a bad boy before it got slapped?

Oh, and was it slapped hard? Nice and hard?

Anyway, I got the Wii Zelda, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet, since I've been busy, and I also have FF12 which I want to finish first, heh.

But I do think this whole mirror thing is silly. And what about left-handed people? If it was so easy to mirror it, why not give the option to switch for left-handers.

Even though I have the Wii version, I'm tempted to get the GCN one just for the consistency.-jay

I think it's been established beyond any doubt that there's more than one Link in the Zelda series. Who's to say that all of them have to be left-handed?

Yeah, but Aonuma got voted in after all the recounts in Florida, so no one cares about him anymore.

Knowing left handers personally, they don't find it all that weird from what they tell me. Part of it is because that they've been trained forever to have the move stick on the left hand, and so this is no more odd a controller setup than they've ever had to deal with in the past. Yes, I think it's silly that they couldn't have asked you if you wanted a left- or right-handed mode because, well, it is just a silly negative one that makes it all happen, but... dem's da breaks.

Possible spoilers: Storyline wise, it's either you turn into a Spirit or a Monster in the Twilight...the fact that Link is turned into a beast is the huge indicator that he's the chosen hero.

And Wolf Link is badass anyway.

Yeah, he's badass. But I want to change between wolf and human form at will.

Also, why do the other humans have normal ears in this? Don't Hylian humans have long ears? -CSM
