Well, I haven't read the story of course, but allow me to make a few predictions about what's going to be in this shoddy story of Mike's, just to demonstrate how predictable it's going to be:

1. Link is going to be some hardened, socially withdrawn, angsty teenager, like all the God-awful heroes in these accursed mainstream fantasy stories. Ten bucks his parents were murdered or disappeared when he was a small child.

2. He's going to bring back characters from past Zeldas just for the sake of seeing them again. My guesses include Saria, Malon, maybe Impa, and the other Sages.

3. Twenty bucks he tries to entangle Link in some sort of romantic relationship. Specifically, look for the following progression: the hero notices feelings for the female, but tries to ignore them, then denies them, then wonders if he could ever tell her, etc. Bonus points if it falls under the heading of one of the 'shipper' relationships.

4. Hyrule will be torn by some grisly and devastating war, resulting in widespread death and destruction, including a few main characters
OR
We'll get some dark Gothic Hyrule where the Royal family is brutal and uncaring.

Either way, at some point in this story, it's going to mention some party torturing some other party (or parties) for information.

5. At some point in the story, there will be some graphic description of Link mercilessly dismembering or slaughtering some foe or monster. Five bucks if he mentions gushing blood or the evil foes' suffering.

6. Innocents will die at some point, in Link's presence. I get one point for every child, two for every female. Three if they die in his arms or if he's at their sick/deathbed.

7. No mention of visiting dungeons, or if there are, they're dungeons from past games. Very little new.

OH. And I get a gold medal if he ends up using one of the already-established Links, and just tries to continue his adventures.

I haven't read the story yet, and probably won't, just because I'm no fan of fanfiction, but keep these in mind as you read. Let's see to what extent I'm on the money.

Nice list, but some of it was so general that you can't make a fanfic without certain elements that you named. [img]smile.gif[/img] You tried to make good elements seem like part of a worse whole. I'm referring to VIOLENCE, of course, and innocents dying in front of Link. Everything else is easily avoidable, I suppose.

Edit: Oh, and don't be surprised by the continuity. Mikey is something like the last living SLT.

Well, I guess that would happen if you were being cut open with a sword. Nothing too graphic, and only monsters are killed by Link, no people.

Actually there will be many new dungeons and quests for Link. Including a well known place in Hyrule which Link could never explore in a certain game.

Yeah right. Who are you trying to fool. You read it frontwards and backwards, and that includes BETWEEN THE LINES! You read it so you could bring up bad things about it and lessen it's impact. I just ask that you, and everyone else give it a chance. Go into it as open minded as you did WW. And remember...
