A director only films the movie, the WRITERS make the movie. If it had good writers and a good director then it would be good.
I wouldn't mind watching a Zelda movie that covered Link's birth to his last adventure, as long as it was ONE LINK of course.

Get a nightlife.

Eh, I've thought about the possibility of a Zelda movie. It -might- be possible, if you had every single one of the variables that various people have been listing in this topic. Might.

With movies nowadays, it's hard not to find a director and script that aren't cloned from the same big, loud, matrix-ripoff action and, of course, a long sex scene. (sorry if that was a bit off. Mods, you can edit if you think so x.x; )

But, surprisingly, some films have been pulling if off from book or comic to movie. Spiderman wasn't bad, and the LoTR and Harry Potter weren't either. Maybe if it worked for those, Zelda might get half a chance. Of course, that's assuming Nintendo even wants a movie...

LOZ 1 to Majora's Mask is what you're asking for, yet that will undoubtedly have problems. And if there will be a Zelda movie, it can't be abot LOZ:WW. It doesn't even star Link, yet it's a Link game??

So you wouldn't mind a 7 or 8-hour movie? 'Cause that's the minimum amount of time it would take to tell all of that.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

All you need is someone who is a good writer and knows the most important parts of the story. That's why video game movies have failed in the past. Tomb Raider was pretty close to the idea of the game but the story was horrible. The Final Fantasy movie was a 100% rape of what the idea of what all the Final Fantasy games are about. So there you have it what you need is someone who is a good writer and knows the most important parts of the story and a Legend of Zelda movie would be awesome.

No it wouldn't.

2 hours at the most. Just a movie that could explain the entire timeline in segments. 30 minutes of OoT, 15 of MM, 15 for OoA/S, 30 for LoZ and AoL, and 30 for LttP.

It's possible that it could even be just a couple of wise men telling their parts of Link's legend to each other, and action scenes of Link for every narration.

The cliffhanger would be Link left adrift in the ocean.

Get a nightlife.

I meant a DIRECTOR that's a die hard zelda fan, not some joe off the street that enjoys Zelda games.

See, I'm thinking it boils down that they just couldn't do it with real action. It would have to be done in cartoon of some variety. And complete CG wouldn't do well either; we saw the failure of such with FF.

Actually, what I think would have to be done is a spin-off. I think the way it will have to go is something like (what was it?) Legend (?) from long ago. A movie that doesn't mention Link/Zelda per se, but one where the parallels between VG and movie characters are easy to make. I think it'll also require an Ocarina of Time-like setting. Wind Waker leaves it too -- too choppy to make a movie.

Yeah. Tommy Cruise was so Link in that movie. That should have been a Legend of Zelda movie.
