Surely you're just kidding.
I own that movie, and Tom is nothing like Link.

Oh, jeez, don't remind me of that movie! I saw it not too long ago and watched purely because I remembered it was suppossed to be related to Zelda, as Miyamoto saw it and got the idea. Or something. But I think you already knew that. x.x;

I -really- hope that doesn't happen to Zelda. Of course, some strange part of me wants to see Ganon with those lovely fake horns. XD

Wind Waker leaves it too -- too choppy to make a movie.

I see. Legend of Zelda WAS based off of Legend, so mabye they can pull it off...

I have already almost finished a screenplay for the first movie in a Legend of Zelda trilogy. Everything is written except for a few minor details but I still need to go over it a few times.

I picked the perfect game to use as the base for the first movie. The second movie would reveal more about Link and Zelda's past. The third movie will either be further back in time or way into the future.

I would say which game was the basis for the script but I don't want to get involved into another 'Time-line Theory Issue'. The trilogy doesnt reflect the time-line of the game series. It easily could incoporated into the time-line if the REAL Shigeru Miyamoto can release a complete time-line. For now the trilogy fits into a fascinating chain of events.

The total length of my screenplay is 3hr/180min but I have also written a 2hr/120minute version. 120 is standard for most screen plays. It's PG-13 but could easily be upgraded to R if I wanted to change a few scenes. It doesn't exactly follow the story-line of the game because it had to be changed to make it fit into a movie.

I've been a Zelda fanatic since 1988 and I beleive I may have created the PERFERT screenplay. I also would like to hear everybody's opinion on what small details should be in the movie. Things that you see in just about every game.

Actually, it depends. Two hours on the dot may be the average length of movies, but gradually I believe it's getting better. Take the big blockbusters Matrix Reloaded, Lord of the Rings, X-Men 2, the list goes on. Not a one of these are 2 hours or down, and some of them push 3. I think you'd be okay with a 180-minute screenplay. Especially since you'll have to make cuts from that down to get the final movie.

What I was referring to when I said that the 120 page/minute is standard for screenplays wasn't about the length of MOVIES.

The screenplay has to be written in 12-point Courier font with single spaces. Usually a page equals one minute so a 120 page screenplay is 120 minutes long.

Directors will normally take a 120 min screenplay and turn it into a 90 min movie.

The movies for the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter were based on books that could only fit into nearly 3 hour movies.

X-men is based on a comic that is so popular that everbody watches it because of it's length. I love getting the most I can out of a good thing.

I hope that whoever makes my 3 hour version of the movie will have a huge budget. I'm guessing that maybe $50-100 million should be about right since the movie will make at least $250 million within the first year. I predict that after 5 years the trilogy will have made nearly a billion dollars world-wide. My numbers could be considered low if the trilogy becomes nearly as popular as Star Wars and Star Trek.

Right now I'm working on a screenplay for the Metroid movie. If the producers love it they might think about the Zelda movie. If the Metroid movie tops the Box Office they might really consider the idea for more video game based movies.
