Then again, I knew it would be great from the start. ![]() "There are some who call me... Link?" ![]() "Carpe Gaium Domesticum!" (Seize the Cucco!) I'm still waiting to be impressed. Sure, the colorful cartoony thing is fun and all, but it's not phenomenal. But overall, it's better and more entertaining than I expected. Not tooth picks with needles jutting out of them or walls with trees painted on them like in MM and OoT. There's been alot of enviromental conctruction compared to it's predessessors. The only thing I don't like is that that the eniviroment is a bunch of tiny islands scattered across a very big ocean. I hated WWW when footage first came. I was pissed offl. I wanted realistic Zelda. But as I heard more about the storyline, my mood began to change. Eventually I got caught up in the hype and I don't usually do that unless it's really that good. So I had high hopes for this game. Most of them were met and so much more. Other part I was dissapointed in. But it more than made up for it with stuff I did not expect. Like the swords play. And very extent of Link's wide range of mtion. I heard Link's expressions were more well devloped in OoT, but I thought it was just more hype. But they were kidding when they saoid emotions hit fever pitch when Aryll gets kidnapped. I knew thsat bird was going to come and take her away. But the way she was just snatched up. And Link's expression! It was so messed up! I was just as shocked as Link was! Ayll then became MY sister. And It was me, not just some boy in green, who had to go save her! I became one with Link. I can't say the same for 64 Link. When OoT Link died, he just died. It was a game sprite, why should I care. But when WW Link died, his eyes, it was looking at a real human being dying! I was actually sickened. WW was the first game I actually tried not to get Link killed. |

But it's not so much the fact that it's unrealistic that bugs me. It's the cartooniness; the art is hard to distinguish from that of "Rocko's Modern Life", and I don't feel that the idea of Zelda--true heroism and sacrifice for good--is coming across very clearly through it. I don't hate the graphics; I just believe that, as it is with all things, there's room for improvement. I've never seen Link die before (I'm a fanatic about 0 deaths, so I always carry fairies around even on Windfall Island, and I always reset whenever the health meter gets too low). Towns are my favorite part of a Zelda game, and I find it hard to believe that, in a huge world, there are only two or three human settlements. And I would have liked to see more side-quests involving personal character stories, ones that extended over long periods of time, like Kafei and Anju in MM.
