I've laughed quite a bit while playing Zelda games in the past, but rarely because overt comedy took place. Mostly it was either me laughing at poor translation (the pre-game story in 'LoZ'), laughing maliciously at doomed enemies (guards getting knocked off of walls in 'LttP'), or laughing as a defense mechanism to keep my mind from shattering in response to the sheer horror of it all (Darunia's terrifying little dance in 'OoT'). (EDIT: Howdy, Firebolt. Welcome home.) [ June 11, 2003, 12:51 PM: Message edited by: Booyakasha ] |

I don't mind kiddy or slapstick humor, but I can't stand childish humor. The last time that I heard underpants jokes that were actually funny to me was ten years ago. ![]() "Subrosiani vincent omnia!" (Subrosians shall conquer all!) The Legend of Zelda: A Lasting Legacy |

Sure, the older we get, the less OMG HAHA funny they'll be, but they still merit a snicker or a smile out of me. ![]() "There are some who call me... Link?" ![]() "Carpe Gaium Domesticum!" The enemies are definitely the funniest part of the games - in WW, at least. In Lttp it's mostly the enemies laughing at me...anyone notice how terribly infuriating they are? I remember reading a paragraph in a Zelda guide (I think it was called 'Perfect Zelda guide' or something) about Darunia's dance, something along the lines of: "go back to the room and play Saria's song to watch that sexy dance again...come on, I know you really want to." Anyone who hasn't seen the Battleship guy at night had better go to Spectacle island. It's hilarious! I won't spoil it here.

I know, he's probably the funniest character in the entire Zelda series. "Hey, uh, bad news kid...the enemy retreated...or something..."

He looks soooo cute when he's sleeping... What's funnier is when you win that game. Which leaves me wondering: how does he know about the pirates? Does he spy on you or something? ![]() [ June 15, 2003, 08:10 PM: Message edited by: ocarinagirl ] |

Oh, and hey FB, long time no see. Sorry it took me so long to post, but I've hardely even been around the forums since I got WW. |
