What is with Zelda and Link

In the legend of zelda a link to the past you rescue her. in ocarina of time for nintendo64 you are with her most of the time and in Wind waker for gamecube she just loves you.WHY WON'T THEY JUST GET MARRIED!!!

It might be because that Link and Zelda are supposed to be no more than a teenager--often in the earlier half--in the games. Isn't it a bit too early to be married at that point?

First off, why don't you ask why Mario and Peach don't, or any other famous fiction couple.

Second, those are three different couples. Three different Links, three different Zeldas.

And third, While LttP Link obviously goes with Zelda, the other two have other options. Link/Zelda is still likely, but there are different combinations possible. Like Link/Malon

Since all Links are descendants of the first Link, if the first Link married Zelda, he'd become King of Hyrule, and since all other Links were orphans and basically poor, it makes sense that Link never marries Zelda. Plus, wouldn't they go insane from centuries of inbreeding?

If there are hundreds of years between each Zelda game, the two lines can easily be far enough apart that the incest part wouldn't matter. It's like marrying your 10th cousin--are you even really related?
