No it doesn't, but the events from Soul Calibur definitely took place in the past of the Tekken world.

Then why aren't there any chards of the Soul Edge? Does Tekken focus around another weapon or power carved by humanity that the gods fear?

Feel free to enlighten me.

Like I said earlier, the main and sole link between SC and Tekken thus far is the Yoshimitsu family line, and I think it's a good enough one.

And it's possible that Soul Edge was totally destroyed somehow before the Tekken Times.

On another note, while Tekken might seem like a "realistic" fighting game, there's actually a good number of crazy supernatural crap in it as well. Devil and Ogre come to mind.

Edit: I forgot Moomoo!!!

Tekken Yoshimitsu is from space. Soul Calibur Yoshimitsu is from Japan.

Edit: to the best of my understanding

Where the hell do you get the idea that he's from space?

I'm pretty sure he's wrong.

The Tekken Yoshimitsu is a cyborg...

Then again, Namco was a little vague on the Yoshimitsu connection. Draw your own conclusions, I suppose. This little discussion is going nowhere, anyway.

One day in Japan, a bunch of balding, fat Japanese business men were gathered around a big meeting table, while watching anime porn.

They were in a problem. No one would buy their version of Soul Calibur 2 because their controller was awkward for fighting games! So, they had to make GREAT PLAN to sell it to losers and idiot peoples.

"HAY I HAVING GREAT IDEAS!!11 hOW ABOUT WE PUT IN FAMOUS CHARACTER TO SC2 SO OUR LOYAL FANS BY EET!!!!!"

"SHULD WE PUT IN MAREEO????"

"NO NO MAREEO IS STUPID AND HAS NO SWRD"

"HOW ABOUT LEENK"

"AH HA HA HAH!!!111 LEENK IS GREAT, PEOPLE BUY EVERYTHING FOR LEENK!!!! CAAL NAMCO AND PUT LEENK IN SC2!!! AND I HAVE ANOTHER GREAT IDEA FOR MUCH MONEYS!!! TETRA'S TRACKERS AND LAME PORT OF GBA MULTPLAYER ZELDA GAME TO GAMECUBE!!!!11 GBA GRAPHICS MAKE FOR LESS MONEY USE AND MORE MONEYS FROM STUPID AMERICAN FOOLS!!!!!!11"

and they all laughed and called up Namco.

and thus Link, the hero, was sent back in time through a magic of corporation and copyright issues, in a brilliant game where he does not fit in at all, and he adds to the brilliant storyline and dialogue with great quotes such as "hya!!" and "HWA!!!"

the end.

And thus ended the wonderfully boring debate the Zelda forumongers held amongst themselves, through Carter's eloquent words of wisdom. Now let's all have corn dogs and chili!

CHILI! HYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I grabbed the X-Box version; its controller's striking similarity to the Dreamcast pad meant less of an adjustment. I could've done without that loser Spawn, of course, but that's just a nitpick.

Impressed with the game so far. Especially Nightmare, who is, as always, too sexy for words. The complete Soul Edge weapons are pretty creepy; I wonder who thought them up. (Wouldn't be too surprised to learn that McFarlane had a hand in it, the sick freak.)

I had the opportunity to try out Link at an in-store display. The button layout did my head in (the middle button on the bottom is supposed to be 'block', damn it) and it turned out not to be worth it, anyhow--Link is lame. His general movelist is weak, the missile attacks are cheap, and the throw I saw him do was quite homoerotic, thank you. You're welcome to him, folks.
