It is obviously not obvious, unless you mean obviously false, when a great portion of video gamers, including those who can write valid and well-constructed arguments on the subject--unlike you, who obviously is incapable of such a feat--, consider it a RPG. It's only obviously not a RPG if you are a 5 year old who has not yet developed a theory of mind.

Zelda is actually a shooter. Link is an advanced spaceship who fights endless waves of weak enemies. I'm surprised none of you have caught on yet.

Sports game too, don't forget Boo. Don't you remember the Ganondorf's Grand Soccer Cup Tournament sidequest in Ocarina of Time? Got first place as Link shot a goal past the big man himself in the last 15 seconds of the game.

Archery is a sport, y0.

You're all wrong. The Legend of Zelda is a PUZZLE GAME! MWA HA HA!.....oh, I'm sorry, you must all have the BETA OoT. The ACTUAL version is a redesigned Kirby's Avalanche-style puzzle game.

...and the Door of Time is a REAL ass to beat. You have to get off a combo that drops all three Sacred Stones into the Door's area to win. SuXXorZ.

Toadyking, RPG--role playing game--doesn't mean you have to control multiple characters. It is ROLE playing game, not ROLES playing game. It also doesn't entail using numbered statistics--and even if it did, the strength of each blade in OoT can be measured and numbered: 1 for the Kokiri Sword, 2 for the Master Sword, and 4 for the Biggoron's Sword. There's a numbered statistic. Your argument in invalid.

Personally, I consider an RPG to be a game with multiple NPCs of varying importance--for example, the lady who sells the Blue Potions in OoT is more important than the guy who makes you sell masks. Both of them are part of optional sidequests, but the Biggoron's Sword is just so much better than the Mask of Truth. I don't consider Super Mario 64 an RPG, because while there are several characters, they only have a few different things: helpy you get a star, give you a hint, or give you a star and a hint. And that's about it.

I think he left out "Fighting" and "Action" and "Kart Racing" actually.

And I don't consider racing a spoirt when you're SHOOTING YOUR OPPONENTS WITH SHELLS XP

^What about when you're creating an energy screen that completely disables the first opponent to touch it? (Wipeout 64)

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Actually, no, I didn't leave any out. Racing would be sports. Well, ok, fighting is a genre too.

However...

Now I'm looking at Action differently. Perhaps Action is a massive genre all on its own. All adventures are action. All fighters are action. All racers are action. Get the point?

Could all games be divided into Action and Puzzle? Hmm...

^ That's like saying the political spectrum is divided in leftists and rightists without any other categories existing anywhere.
