| Mod of War Join Date: Nov 2000 Location: Wisconsinland Gender: Posts: 6,812 Thanks: 75 Thanked 340 Times in 221 Posts | FINAL RULES ADDENDUM--EVERYONE, PLEASE READ!! Generals: 1. Regular Infantry (aka your starting units) move 1 space per month. The only exception to this is the Gerudo racial ability. 2. If one of your armies is attacked, you are allowed to retreat to an empty or friendly space rather than fight. A retreating force loses a number of troops corresponding to 10% of the enemy force's Damage Potential. (In other words, if 50 Gerudo troops flee before an attacking force of 200 Hylians, the Gerudo force loses 20 troops automatically.) Retreating counts as a unit's move. 3. Unless you specifically state otherwise, moving into a territory is automatically considered an act of aggression--if the territory is unoccupied, you claim it; if it's occupied by the enemy, you attack them. 4. Alliances are allowed. Each nation is allowed to ally itself with one other nation. 5. The main base of each nation is considered a Fortified Area. Any army inside a Fortified Area has 2/3 Cover; what this means is, any enemy attack on a Fortified Area loses 2/3 of its Damage Potential. (For example, assume 150 Undead from Lake Hylia attack Zora's Domain, the Fortified main base of the Zora, defended by 70 Zora infantry. The Undead DP is reduced to 50; 50^2/70 = 36. The Zora maintain control of Zora's Domain, losing 36 in the process; the Undead lose 50 troops and return to Lake Hylia. Simplicity itself.) 6. When you train new troops, they automatically enter the map at your main base. If you lose control of your main base, you can't train new troops there until you recapture it. The main bases, per race, are as follows--Gorons, Goron Citadel; Kokiri, Kokiri Fortress; Undead, Castle Burmunica; Zora, Zora's Domain; Gerudo, Gerudo Fortress; Hylians, Castle Hylia. 7. It will be possible to build additional Fortified Areas starting in Round Three. New Fortified Areas provide the benefits of Cover in the field; additionally, they provide a new spawn point for your units. However, Fortified Areas can be captured by your foes as well, and will afford them the same benefits--be careful not to lose control. Costs will announced in the Round Three Hyrulian Gazette. 8. Certain territories throughout the map (and these are secret, so don't bother asking me) provide additional benefits to whatever army captures them. Possible benefits include one-time rupee/resource bonuses, monthly bonuses, Cover, and special abilities. Massive. On the other hand, I won't guarantee every territory will have such a bonus, nor that there won't be one or two bad territories thrown in for flavour. 9. In the normal course of play, you don't need to keep troops in a territory once you claim it in order to keep control of it and receive the benefits of ownership. However, it may be worth your while to keep troops in more than one place, just for the sake of maintaining order. Freelancers: 1. Remember, you need to join a side before you can start playing. 2. Freelancers begin in one of their nation's ancestral territories (those being the three regions furthest from the center, commonly colour-coded on the maps). 3. Because they aren't bogged down with equipment, supply trains, and general military slowness the way regular army is, Freelancers can travel up to four spaces per round. 4. Freelancers aren't allowed in any enemy Fortified Areas--the enclosed nature of these areas prevents you would-be spies, saboteurs, guerillas and assassins from maintaining the low profile necessary to avoid detection. No exceptions. 5. Freelancers can't be killed or captured in the normal course of play. __________________ Boo--the only dude bad enough to rescue the president |

When he caves, post here again and tell us, and you'll be in the War from that point on. Sound good, baby? __________________ Boo--the only dude bad enough to rescue the president |

Espionage, sabotage, revolution, ambuscade, arson, carpetbagging, and good old-fashioned murder. Have fun with it, is the main thing. The big rules for Freelancers are listed above. __________________ Boo--the only dude bad enough to rescue the president |
