| Professional Lurker Join Date: Dec 2000 Location: New Hyrule, Washington, US Gender: Posts: 15,747 Thanks: 87 Thanked 317 Times in 215 Posts | Zelda Mafia: Round IV -- Night One ZELDA MAFIA IV (Rules rewritten by me but based upon Cravdraa's, so kudos to him.) HOW TO PLAY In the game of “Zelda Mafia,” all players are divided into two factions: the Town and the Mafia. (There might be, of course, some Independents, but I won’t vouch for their existence just yet.) There’s also a special class of Townspeople called Heroes; these certainly do exist, though the number is unknown. The goal of the game is quite simple; to win, all you have to do is fulfil your win condition. The standard win conditions are as follows:
)The game is divided up into several turns called days, each of which is split into two phases: Daytime and Night-time. In Daytime, players may freely post in the topic in order to find members of the Town that are actually Mafiosi in disguise. Each player gets one vote, and whenever one player receives a simple majority of the votes, that player is lynched by the Town and is out of the game. That player’s role shall be revealed at that time. Daytime lasts until a player is lynched, there is a majority vote to not hold a lynching, or until a set amount of time has passed (the sun sets). Once any of these conditions has occurred, the game will be in Sunset as I write up the conclusion of the Daytime proceedings. During this time, you should refrain from posting anything substantial in the topic. Once the conclusion has been written and the lynchee’s role revealed (if there is one), Daytime will turn into Night-time. In Night-time, players may not post in the thread (save for one trivial post to wish the other players goodnight). During this time, the Mafia may choose a player to murder during the night and will notify me of that choice via PM. That player is killed and is out of the game. Some players may also have night-time abilities; those players will notify me of their night choices via PM as well. After a set amount of time for players to send me their actions, Sunrise will come. During this time, I will be sending you the results of your night actions via PM. Finally, I shall write an opening post, detailing the deaths (if any) that occurred, as well as any actions that would be publically known. Once this post has been written, Night-time turns to Daytime, and regular posting may commence. RULES
GENERAL ADVICE
MISCELLANY SPECIFIC TO ZELDA MAFIA IV This game is based upon Twilight Princess. Every role will either start with at least item or ability. Items are a special feature of this game. Items can be single-use or multiple-use and produce results as varied as characters’ abilities. Items are different from abilities in that they can be passed from player to player during Night-time. Items can be used the same night as your abilities unless otherwise stated by your role or item description. Also unique to this game is rupees, the standard currency of the realm. These may be hoarded or given away to others. But what will you use them for? You’ll probably figure that out soon enough. For now, it’s a secret to everyone. During the game, some players may also have the ability to cause status effects on other players. Doing so will hamper that player by affecting their Night-time actions or their ability to function during Daytime. A list of possible status effects are as follows:
AND NOW IT’S TIME TO PLAY... With that, I believe that most everything is discussed. We begin on Night Zero. Nothing of significance will happen tonight. During this time, Mafiosi should get to know one another, players should get accustomed to their roles, and so forth. Again, if you have questions, please, let me know. That said, please confirm that you have received your role. Once everyone has done so, I will post the beginning of Day One, and the game will begin. THE PLAYERS
