Masamune sat upon his wealth, not taking any joy in the golden coins or the rare jewels or fancy jewelry strewn about him. He was empty inside... without joy. In fact, the only reason that he felt alive was that he was doing something good for a change, and he was hanging onto that fervent hope that maybe he might find redemption. Yet there was a deep gash on his side was had only begun healing, and that concerned him that someone might come again that night...

And he was rightly afraid, for once again, that eerie laugh could be heard echoing off of the walls in the room. He looked about the room yet saw nothing. He tried to scramble into the pile of coins, yet his half-golden body could not dig fast enough to find protection. Another slash jerked across his old wound, and it sprung open once again. Gold tasted crimson, slowly mixing together as they comingled together. Masamune looked to the sky through his jewelled eyes... wondering if there was hope for him. Sadly, there wasn't.

Masamune was Jovani, Greedy Tycoon, Townie.

Meanwhile, somewhere else... someone else was having quite a difficult time himself. Mikhail was having the fight of his life, clinging to a plant enrooted on the side of a small shore down by the lake. Something was pulling at him, pulling hard. His body was hovering over the water as some creature yanked with grinding teeth, trying to drag him into the water. Yet slowly... slowly... his grip upon the vine was slipping... until at least it gave way. No longer with any tension keeping him above the waves, Mikhail fell into the water. With one last breath, he struggled to wriggle free from the beast's tenacious hold, but it was a game that he could not win. Soon enough, Mikhail was consumed completely without any trace of his existence...

Mikhail's body could not be found; his role and alignment remain unknown.

Yet under the dawn of a new day, the town gathers once again to see what news could be gathered from the past night's events. Slowly there was a counting of heads, and with two dead bodies seen dead -- albeit one of them from so far a distance it was impossible to say who it was -- there should have been 15 present. But alas, there weren't. There were only fourteen...

ZeldaGirl has gone missing. ZeldaGirl may not post nor vote until the beginning of Day Six. She may NOT receive votes and cannot be targetted with any abilities until she returns.

Day Five has dawned.
With 14 players in attendance, it takes 8 to lynch.

I figured it out. The part that sounded "not very CL" like. When ian started throwing around some hearty excuses, and posted a very obvious contradiction, you didn't leap on him and pummel with the pom-poms, like you normally would have.

You were far more reluctant to take out ian, who we know is Mafia, than you normally would be.

Masa was Jovani, as I thought. (The other possibility was Gengle.)
I sent the Poe Soul to him last night, hoping to unlock his flesh-and-blood self so he could give away rupees to the town like he does in the game.
The fact that he was injured to death by a Poe freaks me out. What if the Poe Soul came to life? Ack. There was no injury effect whilst I was holding it...

It seems the vigs tried to make a kill or two in previous nights and so realised that I was telling the truth. Phew.

As for tonight, it seems someone targeted me for ... something. What is the something? Apparently I don't remember as I have a bad headache and feel nauseous.

ZG seems to be totally confirmed as Chudley, given the lack of auction for today, her knowledge of my shield purchase, and SD's strange comments about her being "money grubbing" that if I recall correctly were before even she mentioned knowing my item.

S1x has a point. Mafia certainly wouldn't have targeted their own.

You have told us about this "Town friendly" ability, to restrict our Town-aligned killers from making their nightly kills. You also claim to have used it the very same night that CSM killed HotD.

And you say he's somehow "not really" Town, when his alignment it clearly Townie in his death write-up.

That doesn't even begin to make sense. Even with the star-crossed lovers thing, we don't know for certain that CSM and Crav even HAD a Mason. What evidence is there, to suggest that? Nothing, in fact.

All we have is you telling us that you're on our side, but can stop one of our most potent weapons. For our own good.

Daos, did you, by any chance, take Kargath for a drink last night? A headache, feeling ill and being unable to remember what he did during the night sounds awfully like being sloshed. Sounds like you didn't trust Kargath to stop "protecting" us from ourselves.

There are ... negative effects to possessing the Soul, but they hardly seem of consequence compared to the seeming natural Jovani link.

Curse -- Being Cursed means that an evil spirit is preventing you from acting during the night. Your Night-time actions are limited to the sending and receiving of items. Curses are always caused by items, so ridding yourself of the Cursed item will alleviate the curse.

Was the Poe's Soul an evil spirit that left you Cursed, Kargath?

I have the Poe's Soul. I have had it since the morning I became SP's role.

I can choose to block any and all pro-town nightkillers or pro-town people with killing items. Since we finally have multiple serious targets, I am declining to use my ability tonight.
Hopefully this clears up confusion for Link if he tried to kill in the past two nights and did not know why he failed.

That was possibly the worst night. I imagine Zeldagirl should be still alive, similar to my cucco'd status on the second day. I haven't got so much hope for Mikhail, as it was just told that his body couldn't be found.

Well Kargath, it doesn't necessarily make sense to leap to that conclusion, but that's one hell of a coincidence. If you managed to kill someone by sending them a cursed item, or rather spirit, it doesn't look too good. Paints you a healthy shade of evil, if we take it and run with it. I hate jumping to conclusions, so we'll have to see what comes of it before I start pointing fingers.

And before anyone asks, no I still couldn't do anything last night. I am not happy about it, either.

The Poe's Soul did nothing but curse me. No other effects. I thought the worst that could happen was that Masa wasn't Jovani, and I'd curse someone accidentally. I thought he had me pegged for someone else and was warning against some other action he thought I was capable of.

Luckily for me, I immediately gained a way to avoid the effects of the curse. Wyborn knows about it, since I sent it to him last night.

Karg, I don't buy your story. Your excuse is that you, who have been talking for some time about how you're looking for Jovani because you want to give him a poe soul, thought that Masa, who you had figured out was Jovani, figured you'd be doing something else? That's just a lie. He warned you that you might think it's in his best interest, but it's not. There's no way you didn't know what he was talking about.
