Anyone 'member the ol' Lost Legend thingies? - VGF

I'm writing a trilogy based loosely on the Lost Legends and some of it's characters. It used to be the funnest add-ons of forum 12. First created by the glorious PZoH, they seemed to go on forever with it's huge world-wide battles, bar fights, and romatic love affairs till she decided to drop the Lost Legends and went off doing more generic titles. The trilogy is only my version of it and focuses only on my characters as well as PZOH's (yeah, I got her permission first

). But I'll be willing to add other people into the story if they want.

Some things though. I really do plan on publishing this trilogy for real. So all Zelda references have been dropped. Calatia is no longer Hyrule's neighbor. Hyrule isn't even mentioned! The trilogy now takes place in a kingdom called Lynerian, a once peaceful, pagan land that had just been taken ver by the Christian Church. Sound familar? That's because this story preludes into the Lost Legends that we all know and love. If all goes as plan, book one will take us deeper into the origins of Rafarl and Katherine in Legend 1: The Rebellion. And Legend 2: The Ressurection, delves even deeper into Rafarl's darker nation and his true destiny as the greatest evil of all of Middle Earth. And Finally Legend 3: The Revolutions talks about the neighboring kingdom Abstragnog (my counterpart to Hyrule) and how Kit is taken in by the Royal family. Meanwhile, Rafarl is drafted into Union Army just as a nation wide civil war breaks out in Abstragnog over the union between the Christian empire of Lyneria and the last pagan kingdom of Middle Earth.

Again, these stories are just my version of itand won't include anything said or written by a specific member or group of memember. Heck! I don't even remember half of what was said! But like I said, if you really want to be part of this project and have your characters added or just want to make a few suggestion just pm me and I'll see what I can do. Of course, if I ever do get this trilogy published, any characters not belonging to me will be given the deserved props to their true creators.

I hope this isn't counted as spam. I'm not trying to get people to read my book here. But I figured since the Lost Legends has been a big part of the Z Forum that no one would mind. Hey! It worked for Darunia00!

Makes me wish we had something like that now, unless our little Add-on currently is an approximation of that. Maybe I'm just not into forum-based RPing anymore.

Yeah. I know the feeling. I don't does things much either. Well Zelda based ones at least. They tend to get too addictive. XP And then if you miss one day you can kiss your place in the bigger plot goodbye. Ah, the crazy times. How I miss 'em. But I find the solo thing much better myself. I decided to go on by myself on PZOH's advice. And I've been loving it ever since.

I do realtime RP on Triforce MUCK (and a small LJ community to boot), but the ones on the forums that are decently popular... they take up a lot of time, you're right. X)

Well I don't know if I'll get that far. But I am publishing the Werewolf Diaries, a short story all about my character Rafarl that preludes to the Lost Legends. The Lost Legends I'd probably only publish on the web.

I find it interesting someone comes in and says, "I'm going to steal the story ideas and concepts you guys invented by publishing it in a completely different name!" and people just sorta nod and say, "Oh, cool."

No offense, after all, you're only doing it online and I'm sure you'll give credit, you just didn't give that impression in your first post. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Considering that most of the Lost Legends consists of incoherent dialogues between MJ and PZoH, or just monologues or PZoH, I've no problems with his writing it into something else.

Like I said, I'm not going to write much outside of the Kit/Raffy storylines except for the Union Wars which I'm going to write about in the third book, the Revolutions. I'm not going to include any characters, storylines, or ideas invented by anyone else unless they want me to and I have their written concent. But I apologize if I didn't make that clear enough Masa. Well technically the Lost Legends doesn't belong to anyone. It belongs to us all. Basically all I'm doing is taking my little peice of the pie and building on top of it with stuff out of my own mind. I won't be using any characters, plots, or ideas that aren't directly tied to Kit and Raf's sidestory, except for the Union Wars which I'll only loosely base on the Lost Legends. Of course, I would have awknowlege everyone who participated in the Lost Legends regardless, because without them, my characters would have not become the zany, lovable persons they are today. I could've ended it just there I did my own thing after I got PZoH's consent. But she convinced me that perhaps there might be others interested in getting in the story. And that is the purpose of this topic.
