The realistic graphic style is much better than the cartoon style of Wind Waker. This game should do better than the most recent Zelda games because this one seems like it was made for teens and up.

^Wow. Inbreeding amongst Hyrule's aristocracy must be far advanced beyond that of our own.

I'm tempted to post in this topic, but I have nothing worthwhile to say.

Screw you, WW was a great game, I bet you havent even played it! I admit, I like these graphics better, but WW should still be good. And better graphics doesn't equil better game. But it most likely will be good because all Zeldas are awesome.

Wind Waker was an amazing engine. Game, no. Engine, yes.

As a game, it lacked structure. It followed a fair amount of traditional "This is how it's done", but its story (and this is a big deal these days..) was not remarkably professional. It was cute, short, and more of a rush job the further you find yourself in the game. Honestly, once you run out of islands to explore, you're depending on habit and sheer will to beat the game. It could have been beautiful. It could have been what you caught just a glimpse of.. under the deep.

Lacking an overbearing structure isn't necessarily a bad thing. Remember the original Zelda? That'd be up for candidate for most unstructured game EVAR!!!111

^On the other hand, though, 'LoZ' at least had the virtue of giving you a constant flow of enemies to fight. There wasn't as much of that in 'WW'; aside from a few dangerous pirate/shark/squid/helicopter-whale-thing-infested stretches of water, the overworld of Flooded Hyrule was a great deal more tame. (Enemy-infested or not, though, I enjoyed the non-structured feel of 'WW'. For some reason, the exploration and side-quests here seemed a great deal more fresh and enticing than in 'OoT' and 'MM'. Some of the islands had a peculiar aura of mystery and the macabre about them, and there was that ghost ship...not to sound like one of those 'Zelda is artistic' weirdies, but I got the feeling of ancient peoples, alien designs, strange and dark tales lurking just beneath the surface. (Maybe I'm just reading too deeply into it.))

The Legend of Zelda took place on a system that was not developed enough to allow complex scene changes and storyline creation. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask were. Wind Waker was made on a system that is twice as powerful as the system those games were made for, yet it lacked much.

Great, now we're going to start a debate about Zelda structure, with you host, Mr. Dai Grepher, the makeshift Zelda expert, and co-host, Mr. Missing Link, the REAL Zelda expert (No offense to either of you).

Defending my side or not, you previously said in the metroid forum that system limitations were inconsequential to effect on story.

TML, if you will please note, I said it has now become a standard of the industry that the story be of very high quality. Here, they were trying. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't call LoZ an attempt. I can agree with boo that the freeform exploration was beneficial to the game, but that wasn't even what I refer to in mentioning structure. Hell, I found the destruction of a land which was discovered pretty much a few days ago, that 4 people knew of, to be pretty anticlimactic. Go figure.

I wish there would be a new story. Who wants to see collect three pendant things symbolizing the same basic themes with the same colors to get the Master Sword, then collect seven more nearly identical things so you can enter Ganondorf's tower to whoop his ass again? Rinse and repeat.
NEW STRUCTURE THIS TIME.

Zelda holds a different meaning to all of us. Each game has its own individual cult following who will claim that their game is the best of them all. To me, because of that no game is better than the other; it just appeals to each person slightly differently.
