I dislike the Oracles and Majora's Mask for the same reason that I'd like something different: Reused graphics, characters, puzzles, and themes. The Oracles were more like celebrated rom-hacks of Link's Awakening, with some random characters from other games tossed in for content. Majora's Mask is in itself going to be a poor game to me because it depends on its predecessor's engine and presentation, which I was very disappointed with. I had no problem with the ocean exploration of Wind Waker. The new ideas like the ghost ship, the new items. Honestly, I think in the temples and day/night cycles, WW did Ocarina better than Ocarina. Wind Waker just lacked length and climactic plot. The whole plot is in itself anticlimactic; With an ancient civilization no one would otherwise know or care about being forever flooded and lost to time, when it was assumed so beforehand. The exploration was finally up to par, but the game desperately needed more of it, and a worthwile story. At the end, you hardly feel like Link was the hero of anything but his sister. Another tradition these games share that I have no desire to experience yet again is the fetch-questing that seems to go on and on. Get this for these people. Wah, I need a *insert item here*. Yes, I thought the kangaroo was retarded. Perhaps I've got high standards. Don't go pointing fingers when you don't even know why I don't like something. ![]() [ June 29, 2005, 01:21 PM: Message edited by: Blackbeard the Jew ] |

I was merely saying based on what I saw in the video that I wouldn't want any DBZ content in a Zelda game. I wasn't trying to put any words in your mouth. If I didn't write my statement clearly I'm sorry. I try not to offend people on the forums. Anyway I personally thought that MM was a good game I thought they did kind of took a risk with the 3 day system in the game. I hope that the story in Twilight Princess is as dark as it seems. I really haven't seen a dark theme in a Zelda game since A Link to the Past. What would really be interesting in the new game is a kind of open system like in Morrowind. Although I still would like to see Dark Link play a far more major role in the games. Thumbs up to playing as Dark Link to get revenge on Link. |

And if you're going to insist on trying to irritate me, dekugorozor, I suggest you not ask for any favors any time soon. Read a whole post before you bother replying to the first sentence. ![]()

I want a new villain that isn't one of Ganon's henchmen. What are we supposed to believe, Ganon is the only evil person in the world? Gods! Although I did like WW lots, Majora's Mask and the Oracle games - especially the oracle games - blew chunks for reasons already stated. Looking forward to Twilight Princess. |

But, I still like Ganon and Dark Link. I would like to see something along the lines of Wild Arms 2 in which the main villian was thought to have been but is actually inside the main character (some of you may know what I am talking about). There was actually a monster living inside the main character and it didn't show himself until almost the very end of the game. That would be a nice element to add to the Zelda series. |

I personally liked MM, and since transformation and stuff is in this game, too, maybe it'll be a Majora-esque game with an improved engine, which clearly has potential. A good final boss for this game could be Midna. It's been confirmed that she's bad and is only teaming up with Link to fight a greater enemy. The possibilities of a betrayal could potentially be pretty dramatic. I'd like to see a new main villain, or at least a villain that hasn't been used often (i.e. Agahnim or Majora). But then again, I remember reading that Ganondorf had been confirmed as the game's villain. |

There was a lot of history behind that game and I'd actually be kinda interested in it. Still, that wouldn't be a zelda game so much as a spin-off. I agree, they really need some new characters. Ganondorf is getting old. Dark Link? The evil twin thing has been done to death in every other series I can think of. Let it die and come up with something new. |

Dark Link is overplayed, and was unoriginal as a story element before his first appearance. This bit about Ganon being in the new game could be possibly a good thing, like a second half to the imprisoning war, making OoT the first half. Betrayal is a very strong theme, and I do think it could go over well in the Zelda series. ![]()

| Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: North Carolina Posts: 95 Thanks: 0 Thanked 5 Times in 5 Posts | I do think betrayal would work out in a Zelda game. But tell me, how is Dark Link overrated. He barely made any appearences. An overrated character would be Link, though he is part of the whole story. I wouldn't mind that being the way the Zelda series heads, the end of Links family and any generations to come and a new hero emerging to take over where Link failed. |

And I mean the evil-twin situation, as stated by Cravdraa, has been overdone so many times outside of Zelda, it doesn't matter if he's only been in 2 games out of however many. Hell, 2 is enough. The legendary hero has the potential to appear every hundred years. Lttp canon. So far, he's always been named Link. That doesn't make him the same person. ![]() |
