Who in here would like to see Dark Link play as the main bad guy in a new Zelda? - VGF

Dark Link is one of those under appreciated characters in my opnion. I think a gritty dark Zelda story revolving around Dark Link and Link would be great. What do you guys think?

That would be pretty sweet considering the fact he had to put up with him in Ocarina of time and a A link to the Past...

It would be cool seeing him face himself in a final battle.. either that or they could have ganon come back(like usual) and have some pretty cool features on him since its on gamecube.

You also have to fight a Dark Link in an Event Match in SSBM.

Maybe they could make a game with Link and Dark Link, and have it be what that piece of crap Super Mario Sunshine tried to be.

And I'm totally against the perpetual re-use of existing content and characters. They need to get some balls.

Technically, Zelda does reuse its own content and characters. Link, Zelda, Hyrule, and all the different races are reused. Just because a game reuses characters does not mean it has to be boring. Also nobody ever said that Dark Link just has to be a mirror of everything Link did or does.

He could have his own personality and his own skills that are completely different from Link. A story about his ressurection in from being slained in the Water Temple in OOT would be a pretty good start.

^True darth flava, that would be, but I'd like to see a game where you get to play AS 'Dark Link'
or have a system like sonic adventure 2 Battle had with it's team hero and team dark only Link and Dark Link
or have Link and Dark Link working together to defeat a greater evil than Ganon!

isn't it cool how Link goes super-saiyan when he turns into Oni-Link even if his Feirce Deity Mask isn't around, the colours for his tunic are messed up, there is no armour, and it made the feirce Deity seem like a good guy even though he is some sort of dark entity trapped in a mask (read what the kid wearing Majora's Mask says when he gives it to you)

UUUUMMMM yea Dark link was in A link to the past.. he was in the pyramid level thing at the end when u beat the game, u face him and three other forms of yourself there too...play the game again maybe u missed that secret.

and also thats true they could switch dark link around so that its a lot different from link.

and they were four swords shadow links in four different colours

Hey dekugorozor, I watched that video. That was pretty cool. Although I wouldn't want to see any kind of DBZ reference in a Zelda game. That would basically ruin the game. What I want in a game involving Dark Link as the main bad guy is kind of an epic tragedy. I mean who in here thinks that at least Dark Link or Ganondorf are long overdue for a victory in one of the games. I know that in the whole timeline of Zelda, Ganon does have some kind of victories and so does Dark Link. But, what I really want to see is one where Link puts up a good fight but fails. It doesn't have to be Link being killed and it wouldn't ruin the Zelda timeline because the whole timeline has some tragedy in it because Ganon is never really killed but the old Zeldas and Links are.

It's a given that Link and Zelda will be in the series. I don't see why it has to have anything to do with anyone else from past games. I'm sick of the narrow-minded sequels that take absolutely no real risks. There are plenty of ways to make a provocative series without being so ridiculously dependant on the past, and they should try something new.

I'm also fairly certain that there will not be many returning characters in the new gcn game.
