I beat PH, and there are some mega-links between PH and LA.

The first being Oceus = The Wind Fish?

I mean, there are a ton of Islands in that sea, and the 4 seas you were limited too are not the end.

Who's to say Koholint wasn't one of the islands, way off the PH map?

Anyway, I'm on the phone and typing w/ one hand is starting to cramp my fingers. I'll write more about this in the near future.
