Bizzare PH Final Boss Glitch (Spoilers obviously)

I bought PH on Friday, and got to Bellum about 20 minutes ago. I got to the point were Ciela regains her memory and tells you about stopping time. Then when I got to the bottom again and the floor fell away, I had the powered up hourglass, but couldn't do anything with it. If I pointed to the icon, it brought up the box, but wouldn't do anything after that. I ended up having to quit, after trying about 10 times and looking at a guide.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I was attempting to draw the 8. It didn't seem to even register that I was drawing in the box.

That's not a glitch Ian.
It's very picky about how you draw it.

You need to draw it small, fast, and in the very center of the screen.
Ignore the box, it's not meant to be used as a guideline. You can't see anything happening until it actually works. It's a stupid design and I think I struggled for half an hour with it myself before I could do it consistantly.

Anyway... Yet to beat the game.
