It's probably too soon to ask if there's any info on another one, since Phantom Hourglass is surely unbeaten by a lot of people at this point...But maybe at least a system has been chosen for the next game? Also on a side note, I noticed every Nintendo character has more than one game genre under it's belt, why not Zelda? A Zelda RPG would be great. |

Does 'Link's Crossbow Training' count as a full game? I've been wondering (rather half-heartedly, I admit) when the next Zelda game will be announced, myself. I vaguely recall some Nintendo mucky-muck referring to TP as 'the end of an era' before its release--perhaps they've planned some franchise-redefining changes for the next title. Hard to say at this point. Incidentally, it's good to see you again, man. You planning on sticking around? |

| Professional Lurker Join Date: Dec 2000 Location: New Hyrule, Washington, US Gender: Posts: 17,128 Thanks: 405 Thanked 606 Times in 368 Posts | Well, looking back on recent history with the past several games' Japanese release dates: Ocarina of Time: 21 November 1998 Majora's Mask: 27 April 2000 Wind Waker: 13 December 2002 Four Swords Adventures: 18 March 2004 Twilight Princess: 2 December 2006 (US: 19 November) Oracle of Ages & Seasons: 27 February 2001 Four Swords: 14 March 2003 Minish Cap: 4 November 2004 Phantom Hourglass: 23 June 2007 There's more or less a basic pattern throughout all of these releases. More or less, for each platform -- console or handheld -- there's around a two-year development cycle (± ½-1 year). Now, Twilight has a really weird history because it was announced well in advance... (2004, was it?), but it kept facing delays that kept pushing it further and further back in the dev cycle... making its release a full 2-3/4 years after Adventures, which -- while a fun game -- isn't exactly your standard modern-day console Zelda game. ![]() Judging by those figures, the earliest you'd expect a new console Zelda to be released would be December 2008, but considering there's nothing on the radar, I'd say you'd expect another release by mid 2009. That means, of course, that we should expect to hear announcements for it perhaps starting the middle of this year. Just a wild hunch, of course. Really hard to say one way or the other at this point. |

I don't really care, to be honest. I know there will be another one and I'll just wait for it to come out, I guess. :/ |

I'd like to see something other than one with Ganondorf as the village. You know, someone else who's really cool that strikes black fear into the hearts of players -- thus rulling out retarded jellyfish shadows with eyes and emo purple guys that turn into a floating eye thingies and really badass scary people that, when they take off their mask, they start crying and throwing a temper tantrum -- try to take over Hyrule. -TML In short, I'd like to see Nintendo able to make a really decent final boss that isn't Ganondorf. | |

Some where along the lines of Hyrule having to ally themselves with all the other races (including Ganon and his moblins) in order to defeat such a new and powerful threat. The leader of the new race could take the place of Ganon and threaten to suceed where old pig face has failed so many times. |

I'd like to see a game where Ganon or some other villain does stuff behind the scenes, leading to a war between races. And then he attacks with an evil army of doom. Eh. |

He's perhaps the most respectable non-Ganondorf final boss with the exception of Dark Link at the end of Adventure of Link. Maybe also the Nightmares from Awakening (although that included Ganon... heh). Veran and Onox were actually good, I will admit that, though neither really was the "final boss". :þ Of the remainder, Zant was looking to be the best one ever until his character assassination. Followed by Vaati, who turned emo. And then Phantom Hourglass'... we won't go there. |

What I think they should have done with Zant is this: Zant: waaaaaah i want to be king *Dark portal shooop* *Ganondorf appears, unconsious for obvious reasons: Triforce is dormant for...some reason?* Zant: Maybe it's an angel...*Hatching of evil plan here* *Later...* Zant: Man I'm king this is awesome. Plus, I have that angel chained up so I can steal energy from him whenever I want to. Something like that would have been badass. Though, I'm sure what I just posted is full of holes. Somewhere in there. |

Some evil tribe(Speculated to be the Twili) did some evil magic. Also, magna version of MM has some cool stuff that involves a beastly Majora and someone that looks like FD Link. Skull Kid was pretty much a "host" for Majora. |

I thought it was gonna be some evil swordsman/magician guy or....something. But then when I met him I was like, "Oh...it's....Ganondorf again." Same thing with TP. I thought Zant was going to be badass. In the previous clips you only see him opening his mouthpiece and a slimy, gooey mouth growling. But then he's just some lunatic bird-man hopping around. -___- I never got so far in Four Swords as to see Vaati, so I never saw the whole "emo" thing that's going around. There was a slight rumor that one could play as Zelda in TP, since there was a picture with her holding a sword. I thought a Zelda game where you can ACTUALLY be Zelda would be cool. Though, they have to be wary and not make COMPLETELY a Zelda-only game and turn it into something like Super Princess Peach. |
