The first three days you must waste in clock town(unless you do a glitch to exit which I refuse to use) and must recover the Ocarina of Time. The next three days, however is where the real challenge lies. You have to beat all four dungeons, the main quests that go with them, the pirate's fortress, Ikana Well, and Ikana Castle. Quite difficult. However, to make matters worse, the designers of the game decided you can only get Epona on Day 1 BEFORE it turns nighttime! People have done this though, so I figured I may as well try it. --- Anyhow, after about three attempts that night I finally managed to complete all the required main quests and SPEAK to romani who is half way across the ranch before dusk. In fact, it was probably 5:58 when I spoke to her. It may have been about 5:30 if I had not drowned Deku Link a few times for stupid reasons and if I had a controller joystick that was able to backwards run(though it would take a lot of practicing to master the backwards run in MM's environment). After that, the rest of the game was a breeze. I did not want to compete for a fast score, at least not yet, so I decided to have fun and sidequested left and right. At 8 o'clock of the final day, I had 12 heart containers, beat the first three dungeons, the gilded sword, mirror shield, small bomb bag(if I were 15 minutes earlier I would have the largest one ), the largest quiver, 3 bottles, the stone, kamaro, gibdo, garo, captain, deku, goron, and zora masks and was just entering the well.Much to my surprise, I actually died fighting Gyorg earlier (wasting about 3-4 hours), got a little lost in the godforsaken well(I opened up every god damned door when I meant to cut corners as much as possible wasting about 2 hours being lost), and I screwed up in stone tower wasting about a half hour. Due to the above mess ups and my obsession of sidequesting, I only had three hours to beat Stone Tower. Well that didn't go well, even though I had underestimated the length of the dungeon and only managed to the light arrows and flip the tower. My game ended right when I entered the upside down version of stone tower. Had I not screwed up for about 6 hours though, I may have been able to obtain 4 more heart pieces in termina, the 4 heart pieces on the moon, and the heart container from Ikana brining me to a total of 15 hearts and the above items in a 6-day quest. But alas, I failed. But I decided to make a copy after a obtained Epona as a save state so I would never need to do the miserable day 1 quest ever again. However, I had to sacrifice my completed minimal item quest to keep that save state. ![]() Perhaps I will be able to obtain the 15 heart containers someday, or maybe I'll stop screwing around and just beat the game right then and there without the sidequests. ![]() Overall, this actually will probably be a boring topic for people other than myself to read, so to make it interesting perhaps I'll post the full-length strategy I used to get Epona before the night of day 1. |

Man, I almost broke the controller after messing up Kafei's quest. I'd level an entire town if I messed this one up. |

I never did it on the first 3-day cycle, is that where the bugs are? I just obtained the heart piece from the twin dodongos and the peahat with no problem. I didn't try to get the heart piece in the tree on the way to southern swamp but that shouldn't pose a problem I don't think cause I read up that a guy escaped clock town to specifically get that piece. | |

There are no enemies. 3. You must play as Deku Link. 4. Using the "Speed Boots" GameShark code will... well, it's hard to explain. Let's just say it garbles the playing area. There are probably a lot of other small things that it does, but I really don't feel like pointing them out. |

Once you enter an area everything is back to normal, with music and evil things and puzzles galore. On another note, I'm with Val on this one. I epically failed on the POWDER KEG quest (it kept spontaneously combusting when the time was nowhere near out. WTH man!!), not to mention how near I was to killing something when I ran out of time to kill Twinrova (I beat the whole freaking temple then ran out. Grrr). I would freak out from stress if I attempted doing this. Sounds interesting for other people though. :] (Also SD I totally know where you're coming from with the Gyorg thing. Beat him the last hour of the final night last playthrough. He got easier once I figured out how to use the electric shield thingamabobber, though.) |
