So, I've been playing through OoT recently, and the other day I was presented with a most interesting realization. Here's what I posted on the matter in a different forum earlier: Quote:
Drink deep. | |

Just poison it, send the most powerful of minions to guard it and any other possible water sources, while bottling his own and becoming rich and powerful. One iron fist in Hyrule's balls, another on his sword. In exchange for water, the people would have to embrace Ganondorf as King and offer up Link and Zelda. Hey, there's a game idea! LoZ + The Fugitive = Badass game. |

Epic Ladynerd Join Date: Jul 2000 Location: Forteresse de Valois Gender: Posts: 28,504 Thanks: 1,658 Thanked 1,820 Times in 1,042 Posts | There's three outcomes, in a general sense, to that scenario: 1. people can't afford the monopoly that Ganondorf has on the water and they die, the livestock dies, the country becomes an empty wasteland 2. people embrace Ganondorf and live under his dictatorship 3. they rebel and overthrow Ganondorf from sheer need; you can only push people so far before they are compelled to take what they need Number 2 isn't even the most likely scenario, not least because there is rain and there are/should be wells available to the people. Besides, you can't effectively poison a large river like that, and for it to grow in size after it leaves the Zora's Domain, there have to be smaller rivers feeding into it further downstream. Just because they were too lazy to put them into the game doesn't mean it's a reasonable or accurate depiction of the landscape. XD And this is ALL under the assumption that Hylians even drink water. They're not human; who's to say that's a realistic expectation in the first place? ![]() |

This is impossible as he would dole out enough for survival at a minimal price, even give it out to the poor and dying. Think of it as a utility bill. 2. YUP YUP 3. Then why do they need Link at all? Plus only teh Master sword can kill him (I think). Like I said, wells and such = taken over/destroyed. A magic poison could work well to combat ur logik. My idea is assuming there are no other rivers so =P And they have cups and wells so they DO drink. In WW there's a tavern! |

It's possible, because in the OoT(Child)-TP timeline, there is no flood, so more people drink the water. |
