Well? Link in Soul Calibur 2 was epic, and he fit surprisingly well. |

He was pretty cool in SCII, I thought. |

Guest Characters- PS3: Dante, and unlockable Vergil X-Box 360: Ryu Hayabusa and unlockable Prince (of Persia) Wii: Newly-fleshed out Link and unlockable Sheik (I think that in the new Zelda game Sheik should be a character and as a guy) |

He wasn't too bad a fighter, either. It's a matter of seeing if it ever comes back round. Dunno if it'd have the same feel if it was played on the Wii. |

I'm sure we got to an agreement that Link should not return, but instead be remade Also, Soul Calibur has 5000 Sword and Shield style Characters :/ |

Put them in something like 'Smash Bros', where continuity and plot don't matter a damn--keep them the hell away from 'Soul Calibur'. Seriously. |

Granted, he actually uses swords and stuff. also, yoda and darth vader's appearances kinda shows that Namco or whatever doesn't really care if a character fits in or not. I agree with Boo. | Senior Member | Yoda and Darth Vader fit VERY WELL. What they do with the crossover characters is just have them travel to this world in search of Soul Calibur after it affecting their own world in some way. Also, why the hell would the PS3 version have Kratos???? Kratos is part of the Symphonia series which stays over for the Wii. |

I still don't see how a little green alien with a laser sword and a burnt-up guy with mechanical limbs with a red laser sword fit into a series where most combatants are human using the usual weaponry. Then again, this same series has stuff like Voldo, Cervantes and a sword with an eye... |

And Chief/Phoenix would fit as well as any Star Wars characters. I love guest characters. And obviously Namco does so I'm happy. |

Master Chief and Marcus Phoenix walk around leading parades of X-Box fan-boys going "Look at me I just chain-sawed u I got a big gun!" |

He has a sword at least and is better than an elderly, dislexic elf. And chainsaws must enter SC and nows a good a time as any. |

Anybody who'd rather have a couple worthless system-specific guest characters over an expanded roster of originals is a chump. "Ehhh, I only ever got into this brilliant fighting series because they added Angsty McGothfag from 'Quest Journey 3' and Mephisto Devilballs from 'Fight Ninjas in Hell' to the roster--I can't enjoy a terrific game unless they throw in random sh*t for no reason." Burn in hell. |

Now I am the last guy to hinge games on mindless fun but as long as they don't stop adding original characters, why care? Also, Necrid is an original SC character created by a guest artist, but nobody liked him! So original characters aren't always even accepted, people are too picky. |

Imagine a new Zelda game. Beautifully designed and cleverly executed, with a gripping, epic story. This generation's OoT. With me so far? Now imagine that, as you progress through the game, you every so often run across Sonic the Hedgehog for no reason. You'll be riding your horse along, and suddenly a Metal Slug tank will come blazing out of the undergrowth, firingly wildly at a trailing pack of Pikachus. While walking through town, your path is blocked by a crowd of people watching a street fight between Chun-Li and Sam Fisher. You have a miniboss fight against a Big Daddy. It doesn't happen all the time--like I said, 95% of the game is normal Zelda. Would that be okay? Would Zelda's fans say, "Oh, well, the rest of the game is good--a small amount of deliberate, painstakingly-rendered crap is acceptible"? Or would they feel angry every time it happened? |
