Finally playing Majora's Mask

5 years ago, Melee's "Great Bay" stage made me incredibly afraid of Termina's Moon, therefore preventing me from ever playing Majora's Mask.

Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm a wimp. Go ahead and laugh.

However, a few weeks ago, I came across an image of the Moon on the web, and decided to conqueror my fear by staring it down then drawing it.

Now, I'm actually playing the game and enjoying it quite a bit so far. I have my Ocarina back, as well as the Deku Mask, Blast Mask, and the Bremen Mask.

What I wanna know now is what can I do in Clock Town before heading out to the swamp?

Visit/restore the Great Fairy for a prize.

Don't remember if there's any other things you can do.

Here's a few things you can do in Clock Town:

1) Play the postman timing game and get 10.00 seconds on the dot. The postman plays this game in his house usually right after 6pm and keeps the door unlocked for only a few hours. Of course the bunny hood makes this game about 10x easier but is still possible without it.

2) Play the deku playground game each day in northern clocktown and beat each game.

3) In northern clock town you can get that heart piece in the tree, lol that I'm sure you're already aware of.

4) You can complete almost all of the Anju/Kafei quest to get some stuff. I think you can complete about 90% of the quest. The entire quest rewards three heart pieces and a bottle. However, you will not be able to get the last heart piece until you complete the entire quest. At minimum, you have to do this quest twice though to obtain all the items. At the moment you can obtain the bottle and 2 heart pieces.

On the other hand, if you want to be beefed up, you can collect all of the 20 heart pieces available to you (including the ones you picked up during the first 3 days) to have a whopping 8 heart meter before entering woodfall.

I can certainly understand your trepidation---a playthrough of the worst game in the franchise is nothing to be undertaken lightly.

With the bremen mask, head to Romani ranch on the third day. If you go in the building with Chickens painted on the sides you can get the Bunny hood by by using the mask to lead the chicks around (I think there's about ten).

Also Boo, CD-i Zelda.

But that ain't sayin' much if the rest of the games in said franchise are really, really, great.

Being able to handle that picture was what actually led me to believe that I might be able to stand looking at the real thing.

I for one thought it to be one of the best in the series, but eh, opinions.

That's because you were all still kids when you first played through MM; the rest of us enjoyed years of quality Zelda gaming before any thought of MM was conceived.

It's saying plenty if they aren't. And they aren't.

It was a very atmospheric game for me, when I first got it.

I should complete it some day, renting it that one time didn't do it any justice.

I've been playing Zelda games for about 18 years and I liked MM a lot. And I didn't get to play MM until I picked up the collector's disc for the Gamecube.

I still love MM. And SD, my brother professes MM as his favorite game and he's your age.

It's not at all objective crap. Like the CD-i games.
