The main quest itself is one of the best in the Zelda series, and it also has far more replay value than any of the other games. (with the possible exception of WW, but it would be close) It's kind of like aLttP + FS/A, so I'd recommend it even more if you liked any of those. |

Great gameplay, great story, plenty of replay value. The best the best the best. __________________ /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ WON’T YOU BECOME A MAGICAL GIRL? |

Cons: The overworld is cramped, and feels contrived. The music is unoriginal, the characters are unoriginal. The magic involved is a plothole - the Minish Cap can grant wishes, and would overpower any of Vaati's needs for sorcery: he should simply be able to wish for what he desires. The enemies are true to Zelda, but unoriginal and offer little challenge. The puzzles are unoriginal. The exploration is mostly linear, and you are herded about on fetch quests as usual. The game is very low difficulty. Pros: The game feels different from other Zelda games, and has a complex city. The environments the Minish inhabit are beautifully rendered, and add extra dimension to the environments, giving them depth that previous Zelda games have not had. The kinstones provide for much side-questing. The plot is unique for the Zelda series, and has nothing to do with the Master Sword, Ganondorf, or the Triforce which have all been over-used plot points. The overworld is crammed with little areas to return to and explore. There are a lot of nods towards the oldest games in the Zelda series. The items are fairly original. The animation is very smooth. The environments are new. The Picori sword provides new gameplay elements. The characters have well-rounded personalities. Ezlo is not Navi, and is primarily a plot-moving element rather than an irritating nag.

Anyway, I say play it. I still haven't got around to finishing it, but what I've played thus far has been very enjoyable. Definitely a good game.

Without his dialog, there wouldn't be any. And I can't see how Navi is even remotely helpful in OoT, the hints she gives are usually about the most insanely obvious things, and she interrupts any fun you might actually be having exploring the overworld frequently to demand you go and perform some fetch quest or whatever it is that you're obviously not doing right now. If you had wanted to be doing it, you'd be doing it, wouldn't you? It would only be more annoying if she were accompanied by a screeching alarm, and she had some nasal-sounding actor to voice her constantly repeated lines. |

That's why I need Navi in order to get through Ocarina of Time, no matter how many times I play it. Navi: Open doors with A. Me: WELL, WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO, BITCH!? I'VE BEEN STUCK IN THIS DAMN ROOM FOR HALF AN HOUR!!! |
