Cool Bossfights

Because this forum needs moar activitiez that aren't related to WAAAHHHH TRAIIINSSSSS.

So, bossfights. There are a lot of them in the games. Some awesome, some... er... not.

Personally, I thought that one fight in WW was lame as hell, but the boss looked hella awesome cell-shaded. The giant insecty thing in the lava that attacked Valoo's tail or whatever. It wasn't the greatest bossfight ever by a LOOONG shot, but the thing LOOKED swell.

Dark Link (OoT) is a fun fight because it's fun developing different ways to kill him with minimal self-damage. There are probably a crapload of easy as hell ways to kill him, but I like vertical-slicing him into submission. Or at least, I think it was the vertical slice. There was one sword technique that I kept spamming that in the end he wasn't able to block it. It's just one of the more challenging mini-bosses.

And, of course, Goht was an easy-as-hell but really freaking fun fight. Gotta love Goron-rollage. :{D

Sooo, favorite bossfights? Epic minibosses? Complaints about Puppet Ganon lame bosses? Go ahead. Bosses are such an easy topic to talk about, and they're so awesome they deserve their own thread.

I liked fighting Dark Link, mainly because he's the only thing that provides a real challenge. All of the Dark World bosses bar Blind and Mothula were fun to fight (Blind was too easy and Mothula was just too irritating). Trinexx has to be my favorite boss EVAR though.

I don't think there was a TP boss I didn't have fun fighting.

Fighting the Eagle was always a good challenge.

Phantom Ganon was lame; he was just Agahnim. I didn't like Morpha or Bongo Bongo much either. OoT bosses I didn't like very much, save Barinade and Volvagia.

Minibosses.....I can't think of anything at the moment that really stood out, although I did like fighting the Dodongo Snakes in Turtle Rock (LA) from the ledge, though most of the LA minibosses just sucked. I did like the Poe sisters (OoT) though. -CSM

I agree with the Dark Link fight; it's the only fight which doesn't immediately resort to cranking a widget with the latest item you got in your inventory. I think I had a save file up to that point just so I could fight him whenever I wanted.

Hmmmmm, let me see.

I think I mentioned Moldorm (LttP) being a huge pain in the ass to me before I knew what I was doing with him. Arrghus, Mothula, Kholdstare, and Vitreous were all pretty easy. The first three bosses in OoT were unremarkable. Dark Link was interesting. Phantom Ganon and Bongo Bongo were pretty freaky, although the latter was extremely easy with Biggoron's Sword. In MM, Goht and Twinmold were pretty fun, but Gyorg could be a bitch. Gohma and Molgera (WW) were pretty fun. In TP, Morpheel, Stallord, and Argorok were all pretty cool. Ganon in OoT, WW and TP were all badass.

Ganon in LttP was a great fight, I found. Morpha, though, kinda sucked.

As for mini-bosses, I don't have a great memory.

^^ Oh god, Gyorg. I remember my first playthrough I fought him in the water the entire battle, and what's worse, I hadn't bothered to figure out how to use his electric thingie in the water. I got RAPED by his freaking skeletonfish. That was the worst bossfight experience EVER. I think I beat him in the last 6 hours of Night 3.

My favorite Zelda boss is Aquamentus, but he doesn't get no love.

I'm also especially and irrationally fond of Gleeok and Carock.

Helmasaur King and Vitreous get special nods, and so does Stallord. I think TP has a pretty awesome cast of bosses overall, but none of them are my absolute favorites.

Yeah, Stallord was pretty cool. I particularly enjoyed the Volvagia fight remix. :{D

Just beat the Thieves' Town or whatever in LttP. The bossfight was really easy, but interesting-- disembodied heads shooting fireballs at me omgwtf D}:

I forgot to mention Armogohma, which was interesting for A) the creepy, giant scuttling noise Armogohma makes as she walks around, B) squishing her with a giant statue, and C) plowing through all those babies to get to the eye at the end.

Stallord was possibly the most fun I've ever had killing a boss.

Dark Link is always fun and although I don't think he counts as a boss the Gold Wolf from TP was fun to fight as well.

I like the guy in Link's Awakening who's always like, "Nyah! Nyah!" and he throws crap at you and hides in a bottle.

Oh wow, I just realized the mistake I made in the first post.

I was referring to Puppet Ganon, not Phantom Ganon. Phantom Ganon is actually pretty cool.

^Puppet Ganon was lame, but I do love the fight against Dorf.

TP's cast of bosses was fantastic, IMO. I love Zelda 2 bosses, mainly Horsehead (whoa no waaay). LttP had some great ones, namely Helmasaur King and Trinexx, and I also love Evil Eagle from LA. Hm...Phantom Ganon from OoT was a lot of fun, as well as Twinrova. Ghot was the only boss I really enjoyed in MM, albeit very easy.

Twinrova is a pretty fun boss, but her second stage is insanely easy. At least when she's two separate hags, you have to be on your toes as to which one will fire at you-- the second stage of her is really easy.

Albeit fun. I still love that bossfight.

Also, I've somewhat come to hate Bongo Bongo less. A little. I guess. x{D

Never made it all the way through TP, but I remember being vaguely horrified by that ass-monkey from the forest what-have-you.

I really enjoyed the Gohdan fight in WW.

I'm also a big fan of just about any boss from LoZ, outside of Digdogger. Man, screw that guy.

Puppet Ganon was the hardest boss fight I've ever faced in a Zelda game - especially its end worm stage. (well there's Eagle too, but that's more me not touching the GBC in ages). It felt weird having a sub-boss many times tougher than the end boss.
