The thing with it is that it's only hard for people like me who are major OoT whores. It really is no more difficult than any other game you'd expect, but the thing is that it really throws for a loop people who have practically memorized OoT like I have. I didn't realize how closed-minded I was about this until I got stuck for a year in the water temple because I couldn't figure out how to do the rooms before Dark Link without the longshot. ...The longshot was available all along in another room, but I didn't search hard for it because I "KNEW" that you don't get it until after you beat Dark Link. Annnnd Nintendo is pointing and laughing. Just stuff like that really throws you off. It's great, though, because it allows me to replay one of my favorite games AND still find the dungeons a challenge. Anyone else here played it? Or had trouble with it? The latter probably wouldn't happen to anyone who hasn't majorly over-played the game. |

The search for the eye of truth was a real bitch if only because I kept trying to pass the dungeon at the bottom of the well on memory alone |

The water temple was very well-done, and it definitely threw me for a loop (that whole longshot thing had me giving up on the game for awhile). The under the well and kid spirit temple dungeons are much better done than in the original, though-- in the Well you actually have to use your head and solve it like a real dungeon, whereas the original was more like 'ok do these two things and you're done, then if you want some extra stuff you can kick around some more.' The spirit temple also enjoys forcing you to time-travel a crapload but at least the kid portion is actually challenging. Overall, I'm thoroughly enjoying it-- except for the shadow temple. That was a major letdown. All of the other dungeons were re-done in a way that really throws you for a loop if you keep trying to do things like in the original. I love it, because I love OoT and the storyline, characters, etc. but this way I can re-play it and get all that plot device stuff I love AND be forced to struggle through the dungeons and not have them memorized. Me likey. Although harder bosses would've been a nice plus. Ah well. :{D |

I just thought that, you know, they might've actually had some good ideas while they were making it. I did manage to screw up the game and get in a fight with two lizalfos whilst underwater, in the water temple. That was awesome and horrible all at once, but since it was kind of a glitch it doesn't count. |

Come on, the cows in Jabu-Jabu's Belly were awesome. |

Any remake is mostly a romhack, especially if it's originally on the same system. Obviously, Super Mario 64 DS wouldn't be, but Link's Awakening DX could be considered one as well. So were the Zelda BS games(typically only in Japan), but this is all debateable anyway. |

There's one in that fenced area, one by the windmill, one behind the huge fence, one by the entrance, one in a crate, one by the shack, one by the death mountain. |
