Haha, I think Reggie's getting frustrated with NoJ undermining his attempts to build tension.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Yeah I think it would be cool if they two dungeon items in some (or all) dungeons instead of the traditional 'one per dungeon' system. It would at least make you think 'twice' as hard on the puzzles and I think could slightly change the dungeon experience as well as make them longer.

Oh and hopefully the 'perfect Zelda game' is a little more difficult than TP as far as the combat system goes.

RAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEEGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGGGGGGG.

Personally, I'd love to see something new and unique as well, but as long as the game is freaking awesome I'll be happy.

And by the looks of it, this is gonna be a long wait, so it better be worth it.

With all the amazing things that will be coming to us this year. A new Zelda just adds to the list of epicness. Thankfully I just got a job.

You must have missed the part where a 9 year wait for the addition of only a total simultaneous 56 possible colors on an unlit screen in the same resolution with the same sound hardware was not a compelling step forward. Not to mention the obvious inability to personally choose color palettes displayed in original Gameboy games, as well as the inability to read Super Gameboy color data.

Compare the increase in color depth from 4 to 56 to the system difference between the SNES and N64, for instance, which had a shorter gap in their respective releases: 256 8-bit to (assuming)32,768 16-bit. Also consider that because of the GBC's lack of lighting, all fine colors it might have been capable of displaying will be blended with medium grey to dull their contrast.

Too little too late.

^ It also doesn't help that Sega beat Nintendo to it.

Anyway, I do agree, I want a new experience. I'm sick of rehashes, and right now, there's too many OoT(or ALttP) clones for my taste. Notably, LA did use the same overall engine of ALttP, but it still somehow felt like a different experience. It's the way you utilize different abilities, instead of controls.(screw the stylus already, it didn't work well in PH, and it obviously wasn't effective enough in ST either) Sorry, didn't mean to get off topic there.

Anyway, I admit I haven't played the Wii version of TP yet, but I do plan to. I've played just about all the other re-releases(that I own), so I really have no excuse.

^ Ah, the Game Gear. Playing it was mostly a waste of good batteries, since there were hardly any Nintendo-quality games on the system. It suffered most of all from being compatible with the Master System, whose limited range of games were continually dug up from their final resting place and reanimated on the near identical hardware of the Game Gear. It was almost worth playing, but the dang thing cost too damn much.

Can't wait for Zelda Wii, but I can see a repeat of whet happened to Brawl, it's a week to the release, then Nintendo sets it back another month.

^ I don't think they're gonna add Sonic as a playable character in Zelda Wii, though.

No, but it provides food for thought, whether or not it is true.

U.K.'s 'Ninty News' Declares Zelda Wii for 2010

Quote:
There have been a lot of mixed signals from Nintendo about whether fans should expect The Legend of Zelda Wii this year: First Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said the game was "not committed" to 2010, then Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said it was releasing in 2010, and then Reggie said on their "Nintendo Week" promotional show that it "had to be perfect" -- the implication being if that means missing 2010, so be it.

And now, apparently, Zelda Wii is once again confirmed for 2010. On the latest episode of "Ninty News" (the British equivalent of "Nintendo Week"), they give Zelda a brief mention in a list of games "to get fired up about this year" (via Joystiq). The other games mentioned include Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M, and Epic Mickey.

So how much confidence can we have in this latest confirmation? Well, "Ninty News" is an official Nintendo promotional show, so you'd like to think they wouldn't get their official Nintendo information wrong. But until someone a little higher up in the organization confirms it themselves, excuse us if we don't get our hopes up...again.

One thing we can be certain of is Zelda Wii will get its big reveal at E3 in June, so hopefully this will-they-or-won't-they-in-2010 narrative will get a conclusive ending there as well.

This year or not, it's still a long way away. I'm just fine putting it out of my mind until a week before its release. I got better things to do anyhow.

Destructoid - New Wii Zelda will be a Motion Plus exclusive

Quote:
Have you bought the little Motion Plus doingle for your Wii remote yet? If you want to play the new Zelda, then you're going to have to. The next time we travel to Hyrule on the Wii, we will only be able to do so with the Motion Plus accessory.

"After actually making it compatible," explains producer Eiji Aonuma, "it just feels so natural. Link's sword and the controller that you're holding become one." Players will use Motion Plus to freely swing Link's sword, and it's been hinted that the way in which you fight enemies will be integral to some of the game's puzzles.

Elsewhere, Aonuma has stated that he hopes to have the new game playable at E3. The team will be working hard to get playable code ready as soon as possible. He also reveals that the game's basics are more or less ready, stating that "the core areas have come into clear view."

Sounds good. I'd love to check out a playable Zelda at E3, but I don't relish the massive line that will form around that particular kiosk.

Thank you Val, I wonder how good the E3 demmo will be? I'd like to think that it wouldn't be a rush job though that is still a possiblity here.
