EPIC, EPIC FAIL

I had one of those "woooow I'm a total effing retard" moments yesterday.

So, my family and I went to go watch a production of Peter Pan [this is Zelda-related, I promise], and I noticed that they called the woods that the Lost Boys lived in the "Lost Woods." Somehow I'd managed to never notice that before.

Then I realized that the kids in the Lost Woods in OoT wear green tunics and never grow up. And they are accompanied by fairies.

So, in other words... after having played the game for at least eight years of my life, I JUST NOW realized that the Kokiri Forest part of OoT is an homage to Peter Pan.

....

I'm a ****ing retard. x{DDD

No biggie. Supposedly, Miyamoto got the inspiration for the original LoZ from the movie Legend.

I don't know. In retrospect, it just seems really pathetically obvious. >_>

And....in a preview for Twilight Princess, there was a comment that Link looked like Peter Pan. This is nothing out of the ordinary. -CSM

I remember reading something that argued against this, but I don't really remember the arguments.

Well, it's comforting to know that I'm not the only extremely slow person out there. I mean, it only took 8 years, right? :{D

Yeah, those two things occupy different regions in my brain. This thread is like a diplomatic first contact between two isolated clusters of neurons.

Really? That many of you? I mean, it was already kinda obvious before OoT. That was just the game where they said screw it, gave him a fairy partner, and stuck him in a forest filled with children that never grew up.

Before the game came out, Half of what pretty much everyone had to say about it was that it was lame they were ripping off Peter Pan.

Huh. Must be a generational thing or something.

Yeah, it was obvious to me, but I watched Peter Pan so much when I was a kid I caused the first tape of it to break.

I'm just kind of slow when it comes to stuff like this. x{D

I thought I'd made some GREAT DISCOVERY, and then my sister proceeded to tell me that I am a retard.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly not condemning anyone for not seeing it. Like I said, it must be a generational thing or something. It just surprised me that so many people never noticed the similarities.

Edit: Except Ace. HE DISGUSTS ME.
