The Legend of Zelda turns 25

On the 21st, that is.

I think I'll replay the game in celebration.

I'm thinking of playing through all 15 games again to celebrate this. Already raced through a prototype for LOZ recently and I doubt I'll play it again for a couple months.

Good luck with that. You're going to need it. The second quest for LOZ is pretty hard. Not as hard as AOL, though.

^Re: Biggoron's Sword - I don't think he did much research; he said ALL of the blades in OoT were unbreakable.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

That list was pretty terrible. Seemed like he was really reaching with most of those items.

Yeah. He obviously never beat the Stone Tower in MM if he thought green potions were useless.

That ladder's an absurdly important tactical item in Zelda. What's this guy smoking? Also, playing the dungeons out of order is breaking the game? This guy doesn't even know what makes Zelda good. :/

I can't read the whole thing. The guy is a total idiot. Of course the items exist to get you over or through obstacles. Why else would you be playing the thing except to challenge yourself to progress the developer-created plot and obtain access to the end of the game?

I think he might have missed a point or five in what makes a zelda game a zelda game, i mean dekuseeds are really a necessity i mean you can't pretend ninja without them.

Yeah, I was fine dressing up as a little fairy boy, shooting spiders with my Fairy Bow before reflecting sunshine and rainbows with my Mirror Shield. Items with any sort of animal theme is crossing the line.

I can feel the furry coming over me, I feel it all around me.

Oh, and the Sword? It's good, until you realize that the existence of monsters was willed by the same people who made the thing to let you kill the monsters.

Every item ever is useless, and if you think otherwise you don't know **** about Zelda games.

Also, the Magic Dust turned those mother****ing bastard Anti-Fairies into real, almost invaluable Fairies. I'd say it was my favorite item in the game once I found that bit out.

Also, I knew pretty much everything on that list of things I apparently wasn't supposed to know. The Chris room in LttP I thought everyone knew.

Would like to play Ancient Stone Tablets sometime. I remember playing the BS Zelda remake, it was alright.

Yeah, I think most fans involved with the online communities would know most of that stuff. They actually got some of their details wrong too.

Stuff that I didn't know:

1. AoL had different music in japan. I knew of multiple changes made to the game. I knew that some dungeons and enemies were changed. I knew they reworked the leveling system. I didn't know they changed the music. Though listening to it now, it sounds like the exact same songs played with different sound chips and instrument, so I'm reeeeally not sure if that counts. I knew the sound quality was different.

2. Legend of Zelda: The Ancient Stone Tablets. I knew about the BS games, but I don't think I knew this was a completely new game as the article states..

3. I hadn't heard a beta of LoZ was leaked last year. I'll need to hunt that down.
