The Skyward Sword trailer just got cooler

I'll let the article speak for itself.

GoNintendo - Mind blown: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - GDC 2011 trailer music played backwards is very familiar

I knew there was something off about the music, mostly because of the strange way it started. Now I know the horrible truth.

Bizzaro Zelda confirmed as the main villain.

If Link had backwards-music technology in Zelda II, he could have used the Skyward Sword trailer music to skip over the entire game & wake Zelda directly.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Yeah and he could have skipped over Link's Awakening and woken the wind fish directly. :P

^I haven't played Awakening; is the Wind Fish song a backwards version of something else? I was joking that playing a lullaby backwards would make somebody wake up, sorta like how playing a succubus's hypno-song backwards will kill it.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Once it was mentioned, I didn't ever need to hear the song reversed to tell what it was.

^ Me too, ish. I was pretty sure, but I did have to click the sound bite to double-check and be certain.

That is extremely cool, though.

I kid.

Director: Alright, we finally got the actual game ready. We need to put out a trailer.

Composer: What theme should we use for it?

Director: I'm not keen on orchestrating an existing theme. Again. Let's do something new. New music!

Composer: Eh... I'm all tapped out.

Director: Damn. Okay, here's an idea: We use an existing theme... backwards.

Composer: Wha-- ...But... won't that sound a little... off?

Director: No! They'll think we're geniuses when they find that out themselves! We're Nintendo, goddamn it!
