Skyward Sword foreshadowing in Twilight Princess?

I saw this one the interwebs yesterday:

The person cited this as a direct hint to Skyward Sword in TP, since SS is gonna be about the origins of Hyrule and there are birds and flying and stuff.

However, I'm not so sure. I just think this guy is talking about the Oocca and the City in the Sky level that you go to later in the game.

BUT, I'm not discrediting the theory completely, because...what if the Oocca and the Derpbirds are related? What if the City in the Sky is a dilapidated Skyloft?

What do you guys think?

I think, coming from TP being made before SS, it was probably the clearest new plotpoint for them to tie a game into, and that SS was probably conceived well after Twilight Princess.

Since the game is a prequel, I take it in the same vein as OoT being inspired by the Imprisoning War backstory to LttP.

They'd better NOT have the creepy chickens of evil™.

Otherwise, yeah, I can probably see them doing that.

I agree. Taking it out of game-developer context, though, it could be a reference to things in Skyward Sword.

I'd like to see if there are similarities between Skyloft and the City in the Sky, though. I think that would be really sweet.

IF Nintendo actually planned things ahead and had a timeline somewhere I would say it was a hint. As AI said though we know they just make the games up as they go.

Totally, although consistency seems to not be on the plate for Nintendo (or most Japanese devs). They actually have a cultural barrier to understanding the Western distaste for anachronisms.

^There's a cultural barrier that causes lack of continuity? How does that work?

^There's a cultural barrier causing apathy towards lack of continuity.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Yeah, I supposed I skipped a step. So Asian cultures just care less about it?

I don't know about other east Asian cultures, but I've read interviews with programmers and other industry vets who worked with the Japanese that swear to things like their Japanese team not understanding why you can't put a steam-paddle boat in a Dungeons and Dragons franchise game.

I'm obviously not saying there aren't those Japanese programmers who would care, but that perhaps they are in a minority on that issue.

That's why every Final Fantasy game ever has airships, regardless of the game's overall theme, I'd imagine.

That's interesting, I've never thought about it that way before.

^really, it would explain the lack of contingency in the Final Fantasy "series" in general.
