I've been replaying Majora's Mask recently, and I've started thinking about the game's water temple (the Great Bay Temple), and the Water Temple from Ocarina of Time. Both of them are (arguably) the most aggravating in their games. The Water Temple has multiple levels, tons of locked doors, and water manipulation puzzles. The Great Bay Temple has complex a complex layout of pipes and waterworks, and the water flow must be manipulated to move from one area to another. Both temples are complicated in design, and are easy to get lost or stuck in. For the life of me, I can't decide which one I hate more. For those of you who have played both games, which dungeon do you think is worse? Feel free to discuss other annoying LoZ dungeons in this thread. |

I just don't find the Water Temple all that hard, even as a young kid. Confusing at most, honestly. But then again, I liked having to re-equip the Iron Boosts often, so YMMV. |

The Water Temple boss, however, was a pain in the ass. Maybe I never thought it was hard because every time I refought it I just slipped the Fierce Deity Mask on and utterly humiliated the stupid thing. And both temples can go suck it. Managing different water levels, managing currents, too tedious. Great Bay wasn't as frustrating but goddamn working against the clock, even with Reverse Song of Time, sucked. At least Stone Tower Temple actually had puzzles for as long as it was (Never completed before hitting third day). |

I think the OoT water temple was awkward, but it wasn't near as confusing as the forest temple, when I played it the first time. Personally, my least favorite dungeon in the game was Lord Jabu. I hate those electric jellyfish things - they were a pain in LttP but put them in 3D and make them somewhat homing and it's magnified by like 10 times. As a positive about OoT, the dungeons in it were generally great. Maybe not enough Gels, Zols, or other traditional monsters, but the design was pretty good. Then again, I think that's true of most dungeons. Couldn't imagine ever wanting to play MM's dungeons with their timer on, though. |

I definitely think that the Great Bay Temple is way way worse. I always end up going through the motions and losing track of what exactly it is I'm supposed to be doing... |

Gyorg is just a bitch who gobbles up your ass whenever you dive down to attack him. Granted, he's not horrible once you get down how to damage him, but still, he's the most annoying boss in a game full of annoying bosses. | |

The ending of this cinema puts you in a very specific position in the water and unless you do not know you need to physically swim AROUND the platform about a quarter to a half way clockwise(I'm pretty sure it's clockwise at least) BEFORE boarding the platform, I guarantee you will be gobbled up by Gyorg for a cheap shot worth 2 hearts. |
