Zelda locations

The Zelda world has always been known for its atmospheres and environments. What are some that mean a lot to you or you think are really cool?

One of my personal favorites...

I love the Under-bridge spot in LttP. It's so peaceful, and I love the idea of the dude living down there just taking life easy. Something about this locale has always fascinated me, and to this day I still enjoy seeing what's under bridges in real life.

You guys got any favorites?

Ganon's Tower in OoT. Specifically, the tower proper. The long, winding staircases, the candles dimly illuminating, the organ music growing louder as you ascend. It was really haunting, and probably my favorite part of the game was getting to the top and finding Ganondorf playing the organ.

If only because I walked up a staircase into space and met with a giant talking whale that grants wishes.

God I love that game.

Also I was really fond of the subrosia world in oracle of seasons and ages. I don't know why, it was a terrible place...

The private island you get the deed to in Wind Waker was really neat for me. Same with the hotel room in Majora's Mask.

Why yes I do own multiple houses in Elder Scrolls IV how did you know?

^ That was the high point in the game for me. I was just disappointed there were not crazy secret passages on the island, because I so would have put one there.

The snowy mountain area in TP is pretty nice. It also houses the best dungeon in the game I think.

I really like the spot on the beach in Link's Awakening where you find Marin on the log.

^ That one was badassed, too. I think what makes Link's Awakening special is how every screen seems immensely unique and interesting.

LA has a lot of good ones. I was always a big fan of Tal Tal Heights in general. For a gameboy game to give you a legitimate feeling of being ridiculously high in the mountains was pretty cool.

I pretty much love everywhere in Link's Awakening. The forest is scary, the beach is adventurous, the mountains are vast and sprawling, the caves are seemingly endless, the town is welcoming... it just captures all the feelings necessary to make every location meaningful.

btw, I honestly cannot tell you if I've ever seen that campsite under the bridge before now. I mean, yeah, my memory is shoddy, but I don't recall that AT ALL.

^ You had to go out of your way to find it, and it wasn't obvious that it was there. It was where you snagged one of the four bottles.

Agreed on the awesomeness of LA in general. Kind of amazing to know that a game that only had 4 colors, 160x144 pixel resolution, and only 512 kB worth of game could be that much more amazing than games multiple times it size.

Oh... also the little grove where you pick up the Master Sword in LttP? That was dope too. Where all the animals scurry for shelter because it's been undisturbed for so long?

The Temple of Time, from Ocarina of Time. I love how it was one of the only things nothing evil could really touch.
...Bombchu Bowling Alley was a close second, because it was so BRIGHT.

SD, that's another reason why I love the location so much. It's so out of the way and cool.

TML, I'm totally with you, I love the sun streaming through the leaves and the animals scampering.

Overall, I think Link's Awakening is the definition of the word "Scope."
