Connection (storyline or not) between Skyward Sword and Oracle of Ages:

The symbols for the 3 goddesses in Skyward Sword are the same as the symbols of the 3 songs in Oracle of Ages. I noticed right away with Farore--my brother said "That symbol looks familiar..." and I said "Yeah, that's the song of echoes from Oracle of Ages!" Then I kinda forgot about the similarities until just now, when I saw my roommate playing and when he got to the gate of time, I noticed all 3 symbols together and thought "...hey!"

Look:
Tune of Echoes - Zeldapedia, the Legend of Zelda wiki - Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time, Skyward Sword, and more
Tune of Currents - Zeldapedia, the Legend of Zelda wiki - Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time, Skyward Sword, and more
Tune of Ages - Zeldapedia, the Legend of Zelda wiki - Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time, Skyward Sword, and more

Totally the same. I love it when Nintendo does stuff like this.

I think that those symbols have appeared in most Zelda games, no?

Huh, I never realized the goddess pearls had the same symbols.

But why did those symbols, which originated in OoS, come to represent the goddesses? At first they were just the songs.

I think it's kind of interesting how chronologically the very first and one of the very last games, as well as some in the middle, have these symbols representing the goddesses, but in between they are missing [like in OoT where the Goddesses were symbolized by their respective Spiritual Stones].

There probably isn't much meaning behind it other than continuity nods, especially since Farore's Pearl and Nayru's Pearl bear somewhat of a resemblance to their corresponding OoT stone, but it's still interesting.

Wouldn't it only be 4? OoA, WW, PH, and now SS? (I didn't know about PH because I only made it an hour into that game before never playing it again)

Yeah, four.

I've never played the Oracle games, so I got confused.

Oh, you totally should. Great games. I'd say play Seasons first and then Ages, but you have to connect them or else you don't get the full story.

CL also pointed out OoT. Okay, the Din ruby isn't even close, but the Farore emerald is, & the Nayru sapphire is...

I personally prefer the story of OoA first, but I also think OoS is the easier of the two games.

I prefer to do Seasons first, because otherwise there's one screen in Ages that you can't get to, and it bothers me to have that one spot on the map blank. =p

I think OoA works better as the "concluding" game, although I actually like OoS better.
