I recently listened to The Violet Hour by The Civil Wars and it sounded like something that would sound nice playing in the Kakariko Graveyard. Part of the association I'm making is probably the little two-sets-of-three-notes type intro that this song and many of the ocarina songs you learn share. Anyone feel that way about any other pieces of music?

And yes, I think the two-/three-note patterns help give it that Zelda feeling as a lot of their songs have derived from that flow. |

Personally, I think a lot of music from Skyward Sword is incredibly generic, despite being well-produced. Then again, I'm one of those folks that finds the lower-than-CD-quality sampling on the Wii to be painfully outdated, so I guess my priorities are different from the average player. |

There's some Fleet Foxes stuff where an instrumental version could work for Zelda. This one came to mind: Reminds me of a Kakariko Village-type place.

I love it, and I definitely hear the "Zelda-esque" ness, but that much is true. I do love the Zelda soundtracks actually-- though not as much as other games on the whole-- but they do lack that subtlety and simplicity that this piece is just full of and omg. that said i will be listening to it on repeat for the next five billion hours ^ I could see that, simplified a bit and obviously without lyrics, but still |

That's their only instrumental track, but the rest is just as beautiful. |
