NewKidCo has entered into a worldwide multi-year,
multi-platform deal with Little League Baseball to launch
four video game titles targeted toward 6-14 year olds in 2002.
"This is a home run,'' said Hank Kaplan,
CEO of NewKidCo. "We are thrilled by the opportunity
to work with Little League Baseball to bring the excitement
of new 3D and interactive technologies to millions of kids
who love their all-time favorite sport. We are confident that
our long-term relationship with Little League Baseball will
produce future titles that will appeal to new generations
of Little Leaguers in the U.S. and the world."
V. Jud Rogers, Little League's Director of
Marketing and Public Relations, said, "What attracts
us to NewKidCo is that their entire focus is on products that
appeal to younger video game enthusiasts, allowing children
to enjoy baseball in an interactive environment."
NewKidCo will utilize the Little League logos
and the nine baseball characters in authentic games with Little
League Baseball rules and regulations.
The first two titles will be released for PlayStation
and Game Boy Advance in the spring of 2002, just as Little
Leaguers are warming up for the 2002 season. Subsequent titles
will be for the GameCube and PlayStation 2.
