Tecmo estimates its net profit for the year ending March 31, 2002 at 1.2 billion yen (US$9.3 million), an increase of 88% over last year and its best since 1991. Total sales increased by 15% to 11 billion yen (US$85 million) and nearly doubled in North America to 3.8 billion yen (US$29.5 million) compared with last year.

Most of the jump is attributed to Dead Or Alive 3, which has sold over half a million copies in the US and over a million worldwide since its debut. The company expects continued improvement, particularly in America.
