SUCKER PUNCH ON DOLPHIN
November 30, 1999
Sucker Punch Studios are currently working on
a game for Nintendo's Project Dolphin that will be based on
the same physics engine used in their recently relesed sleeper
hit Rocket: Robots on Wheels.
While Rocket won't see the same sales success
as the likes of Rayman 2 or the big holiday N64 game, Donkey
Kong 64 (score another holiday hit for Rare), it's likely
to build up a small base of loyal fans for Sucker Punch.
Although the company gave no information as
to what the game will be based on, considering their first
effort, we'll be in for a great surprise. Sucker Punch is
currently looking for a publisher to release the game on the
Dolphin, and the two likely candidates are Nintendo and UBI
Soft (the latter of which published Rocket).
With this announcement from Sucker Punch, the
list of Dolphin developers is slowly growing. This is vastly
different from the Nintendo 64, which struggled for quite
some time to get most developers involved (and is still having
problems getting some of the larger ones). Reason? Two words:
no carts.
