BOND RETURNS TO N64

Electronic Arts will be returning the Bond franchise
to the N64, with The World Is Not Enough. Building upon its
James Bond game line-up for the PlayStation2,
PlayStation, and PC,
the much Nintendo 64 version is slated for release later this
year alongside its counterparts.
The World is Not Enough game is a spy-inspired
title based on MGM's film of the same name, which was released
last fall.
The World is Not Enough carries the unique distinction
of being the official James Bond sequel for the N64 system.
The ground swell of interest for a first-person perspective
title using the Bond franchise stems from its wildly successful
007-licensed N64 game by Rareware that was based on the MGM
film, "GoldenEye." The game, according to Nintendo of America,
has sold more than 7.5 million units worldwide since its release
more than two years ago.
Gamers will appreciate that the game stays true
to the Bond legacy by delivering the action, stealth, state-of-the-art
gadgets, and sophisticated spy-craft that fans expect.
Key features will include:
-- Be James Bond via a first-person perspective
that allows the player to completely assume the role of the
world's greatest spy.
-- Single and four-player multi-player modes.
-- More than 40 unique Bond weapons and gadgets
to acquire and utilize.
-- Expansion pack support, which provides enhanced
graphics and visual effects.
-- More than 10 arenas and levels, some unique
for the N64 version, many of which are based on movie scenes
and locales.
-- Encounter many recognizable allies from the
movie, as well as new adversaries created exclusively for
the game.
-- Authentic sounds and dialogue folded in throughout
the game.
The Nintendo 64 version is being developed by
Eurocom, a UK-based developer. Electronic Arts will publish
and distribute The World is Not Enough for all announced platforms
worldwide in late 2000.
The game's release will be the first project
to come out of an exclusive licensing deal Electronic Arts
secured with MGM Interactive, Danjaq LLC, and Eon Productions
for the Bond franchise. Under the agreement, as previously
announced, Electronic Arts has secured the worldwide, multi-year
rights to develop, publish, and distribute worldwide a series
of interactive titles on multiple platforms based on the James
Bond character.
