989 LICENSES MAYA

Alias/Wavefront today announced that Sony has
licensed the Maya Real Time Software Developer's Kit (SDK)
for sports game development for its PlayStation 2. Leveraging
Maya software's comprehensive game solution and PlayStation
2 optimization, 989 Sports will use Maya together with the
Maya Real Time SDK to accelerate game development for the
system.
"The integration between Maya and the Maya Real
Time SDK allows our artists to contribute more significantly
to game content and allows our programmers to focus on game
play," said Kelly Ryan, Director of Sports Product Development,
989 Sports. "The level of optimization for PlayStation 2 computer
entertainment system is impressive, as is the overall rendering
quality."

with Maya, and on getting the most out of PlayStation 2 computer

can take months off game production schedules and bring the
