JAPANESE XBOX ALLIANCES

Reuters reports that Microsoft has announced an alliance with two Japanese companies for the sale and distribution of its Xbox in Japan. Microsoft's Japanese branch will work with Softbank Commerce Corp. and Happinet Corp.

Softbank Commerce's distribution network has been built to sell computer software. Happinet is a wholesaler of toys and video game equipment.

The companies plan to finalize the agreement in June. More as it develops.
